Speedometer cable has broken and repairman needs info on what others are using for speedometer cable on CMCS Speedster and where one might be available. Also need the housing (tube?) in which cable is installed. Appreciate all recommendations.

There are several different lengths of the "standard" VW speedometer cable available from CIP1, Mid-America parts or even NAPA. The one you want is the longer one for a Type 2 Bus. Why? Because it is slightly longer and if your speedometer is on the right of the dash cluster of your CMC you'll want the few extra inches. If the speedo is on the left, the extra length allows a wider bend going from the dash to the left front wheel (which drives the speedo) and the cable will last longer.
