Speedometer cable routing

I have my speedometer on the left. I know some think on the right is more authentic but I prefer to keep the speedometer as far as possible from my wife.

Where is the best place to poke through the fiberglass into the wheel wheel?

I plan on using one of the VW angled grommets at the penetration.

How about straight down the steering column? The column hole is most probably oversize all ready.

That's the grommet.

I have two from different sources. The one from Wolfsburg West has a wider groove that will work better in fiberglass.

I don't have any extra space around the steering column.

I am thinking about going through in front of the front lid cable release just under where back wall of the front compartment turns under.

i used two of them since mine is double walled fiberglass. one on the inside and one on the outside.

Mine doesn't work anymore since I changed to discs....(sigh)
