Saw this for sale and found the seats flipping up to be unusual. Not sure if it would be safe but I guess your belts are connected to floor so maybe it doesnt matter... Here is the pic I am referring to...

Yes they did. I spent a long time doing the same thing to mine. Of all the stuff I've done along the way to make the car better, this was the one thing that was really not worth the effort.
But... that's a Glasspar hardtop. That's way north of $3K from Fibersteel. That guy has a LOT of time and treasure in this car. His ask (while high) does not seem crazy out of line.
I don't know - what's not to like? Mixture of stock and outlaw with the headrest. Like the seats also - hopefully they lock down well.

Maybe its just the angle of the picture but I dont see how they could lock down -
My new seats don't flip up like that, but the seat backs are on recliners so you can pull the recliner lever and flip the seatbacks forward to get to what's in the back seat area, under the tonneau.
Pretty handy.
