Does anyone know a supplier for GLASS red beehive lights. The plastic repos just don't cut it for me.

I've pushed the British LUCAS L594 light assemblies with glass lenses (L488 may be larger?). They come with single filament or dual filament sockets. I use the clear ones as front turn signals (see my avatar). $35 each complete at MOSS Motors. They are slightly smaller (~1/4"?) though.

Have you tried Sierra Madre or Stoddards? I don't know if they are glass or plastic, but if you use these, the lens won't melt.

And they are super bright.
Don't mess around with improbable replacements that look a little weird.
Contact Adam Wright at unobtanium.com and see if he has something reasonable.
If not, either Sierra Madre or Stoddards so do it, but they'll be $$$$
You should also contact Carey Hines at Beck Speedsters, or even Kirk Duncan at Vintage Speedsters. All of those places should have Bee Hives kicking around. Decent plastic should be $$ and glass should be $$$$$. Plastic will give you a brighter light, always good for directional and stop lights.
Plastic readily melts with incandescent bulbs - I'm sure that's why glass is preferred. Plus glass has a more vintage look and doesn't fade to pink or crack from UV.
Or use the LEDs -- not so much heat.
