Epilog:
The read discs brakes have been an issue, as it stands now Carey is locating me a set of rear calipers to replace the faulty ones....waiting on a Pennsylvaia title then it's off to eBay Land.
So I see #23 and #25 --- what happened to #24??
....#24 was Vince's speedy I bought and went to Australia.
It's gettin a little hard to keep up without a score sheet...
Right!! El Diablo. Whatever happened to Wanda, or whatever her name was -- the pole dancer . . .
I adopted her....
Yeah.....Every good girl needs a "Sugar Daddy"!
Her name was Ariel, and she needs to dance....
.....the horizontal Mambo
Ariel lives on...
I do miss her, she gave me many hours of pleasure...
Vince, I can offer her to you at a very reasonable hourly rate ~
Alan, you may want to wash your hands after handling her, you don't know where she's been....
She may not know where Alan's have been either...
My guess is that she is VERY familiar with where Alan's hands have been.
I put her in a safe place, somewhere in my shop but have no idea as to where... I put her ~
A public thank you to Carey and Mike at Special Edition for seeing what I could't find hence I have good rear brakes now.
#23 is done and detailed just waiting on a PA title that should arrive this week.

Man, that's cool!
No problem Alan. The real thanks goes to my tech Mike and a bit of dumb luck. He happened to walk through my office while I was reviewing your photos and said "hey is that the driver's side of Alan's car?" followed by "Call him, I found his problem" haha.
Glad you are sorted and soon to be on the road.

OK - I'll bite - what was wrong? Fill us in Alan
It was dumb moment ....The PO had the calipers flipped and on the opposite sides, but when you looked at them the bleeders were well, almost on top but the inboard line was a tad higher so a pocket of air remained. The Special Edition guys caught it and now had 150 miles on the puppy !
Listed it on ebay

Wait a minute man, big hats is my territory. You just keep pumpin' out those great Speedsters. OK?
I'm cutting back to just doing fix r' uppers, it's been fun and a dream come true but I'm a bit older and a bit tired of all the crawling around and smacking my nogg'n on the chassis's. This red one was and is the last full build.
can we quote you on that?
wait till you find another alley speedster still in the box...

Yeah, Right!!!! Can I have a show of hands from those that actualy think he can do " Just rebuilds "....... I think a "newbie" would probably be easier, at least from the beating my "rebuild" is giving me.... ; - )
I'm just sayin' ......

Youz guys.... :~) Seriously I'm not done just rethinking to doing just light restos, I'm tired of all the hours and now with a health issue behind me I look at things from a different perspective so I bought a bike and want to enjoy it some. Thanks for not hammering this very much for real decision to death...

Well that was the plan for Carlisle but alas, I sorta misplaced her. So for Carlisle 2012 she will be put up for auction for the period of one year "to have and to hold" then returned.

Cool idea.
Hey, Cuz'n Vinny, come to Carlisle and buy her back. This is an opportunity you really can't pass up, right?
Updates:
The custom red speedster I had at Carlisle was sold to "Tony" from Wisconsin and arrived at his place yesterday. He is away pleased with the speedter. What a an easy going guy, I told him about Carlisle and he say's... Is there beer ? SO... it's a given Tony will be there :~)
In the interim, I bought and completed Brian V's beautiful Vanilla white speedster (project #25) from NJ, This speedster is one of th top four I have had in my home shop. Brian is a craftsman and shows in every detail on the car.
I lowered the rear suspension, installed bumpers, side body moldings, sailcloth top, fabricated my Lexan side curtains. WIth a recommendation from Lane, the speedster was purchased by "Brent" in South Carolina. I am sure that Brent will be posting here after he returns from vacation.
