John,
Nice bumpers. Are these just the run of the mill reproduction fiberglass bumpers? Or is there something special about them?
Ted
Shipping is a real killer due to oversize -- although GreyHound might handle.
$1,300 for the pair seems really high. I put bumpers on my real one for a lot less than that. All brand new steel stuff. Maybe it's not a good comparison
I shipped two Beck bumpers a few years ago, Wisconsin to Georgia I think was the destination. I think UPS was about $200 if my memory serves me properly. They had to be boxed.
Bumpers only, no guards.
Carl Berry taught me the trick...if you're near a GreyHound bus terminal, they'll ship odd shaped stuff, wrapped but uncrated for a very reasonable fee.
As an aside, just for laughs as a weird comparison....I recently shipped a Housai 285 hp radial aircraft engine, prop and exhaust in three different crates from Montreal to Paris for $2,400 CAD. Three crates, 80 cubic feet, 946 lbs. The lad outside Paris has the only Nanchang Trainer in France and said he needed spares.
About 30 hours work gained me $11,000 CAD.
One thing I really got re afirmed in this deal is that Montreal still does have great Smoked Meat. The Ladies aren't hard to look at either...they work hard to make it that way..:-) Who remembers that saying...money talks, nobody walks, Dennison, union, New Jersey ? was that it ? was I close ?
Was that Cousin Brucie ?
New from Vintage, $370 an end with deco and guards I just did my front. Shipping was/is ~$100 in CA if I remember correctly. I kept the box and my old parts if anyone close by ever needs them.
dsrtfox,
Tell me more about the steel bumpers, and where you got them, please.
My steel bumpers came from Trevors Hammer Works in Ohio. The GT bumper deco came from GT Werk in Los Alamitos Ca. along with the thru the hood gas fill with the fined cap.
David, I have been listening to Cousin Brucie ( now resides in Randolf,NJ) since 1961-2 and still do ~
David, we have fond memories of Montreal smoked meat from Schwartz's Deli.

Thanks. I went to the Trevors Hammer Works website, and couldn't find bumpers. It's good to know they make them.
They absolutely came from Trevor. A friend of mine owns Deluxe Customs in Tempe Az. and he called Trevor so I got a little bit of a deal. Look up Deluxe Customs on the net. They straightened my gaps and painted the car...
