First of all thanks for such a great forum. I not a Speedster owner yet by am seriously starting to look. I just got out of motorcycles and need a new interest and always liked Replika Porsches. Are there any events that you guys in SoCal go to. I would like to see the cars in person and ask owners some questions. I'm in the Temecula area. Also are the local Southern California builders such as Vintage Speedsters and JP open to strangers coming by to take a tour ask questions etc. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ken

Ken, call in advance and let Mary and Kirk know your coming.. He'll be happy to show you around if he has time.. He's very busy right now... Like GERD said we often get together for rides in the So cal area.. I am sure any one of us would be happy to give you the keys and take a spin... BUT you better be reazdy to pull the trigger here, cause once you go Speedie... well you know the finish.. we have some cool guys in OC too like Will P. and Dave O. hook up with them or drive up to Whittier and I'll be happy to show you the tub...

I'm trying to put together a list of as many events, both National and local, as I can for 2009, assuming that we'll go through both an economic slowdown and another round of gas price gouging next year, both of which will make us look closer to home for our Speedster and Spyder events.

Stay tuned, as I'm (slowly) working up a master list and will both post and maintain it as things change.

Thanks everyone for the information and offers of letting a total stranger check out your cars.
I did stop by the Coffees and Cars show in Irvine CA and got to talk to a gentleman that had a red VS, it was very nice. It was good to be able to see the cars up close. There were two other replicas there, a wide body red and silver both were very nice as well. I did not see the owners around so I did not have chance to talk to them.
Again thanks for the info and the forum.
Ken,
Plan on joining us in Morro Bay this coming April. A car is not necessary, only an interest. You are welcome to participate in any of the tours, too. Drive your own car (whatever brand) or ask around and you might find an empty right-seat to fill for a tour. If nothing else you will meet some great folks and have a good time. With this group no one is a stranger.

Happy Trails,
Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon
