A little embellishing can be ok when talking about fishing. But when describing a widget you’re selling and the description doesn’t match the item it’s called, Ummmm hold on it’s on the tip of my tongue…

RedCat – you’re a newbie here…, I’m just having fun with you, nice car.

All kidding aside, did you mean Gas Charger Spring Assisted Shocks? I mean I see a Ball Joint / linkpin front end. Did you re-edit this description out of something else and forget to delete this fupaw / blurb.

It seems that you've taken a bit of a hit in the credibility department.  Since you advertise that your car is the best in SoCal, readers assume you are knowledgeable about cars.  Who built the car?  Did someone else tell you what features are on the car?  McPherson struts would be difficult, but not impossible, to fab on a VW pan.  No disrespect intended but lots of gearheads on here, so you need to sharpen your game if you intend to sell with this crowd.  It's entirely acceptable to have entry level knowledge like all of us had at one point.  However, accurate advertising is very important.

Help me, I’m cornfuzzed, I see a sway bar like that of a ball joint front end and to Quote you: 1972 Super Beetle suspension> MacPherson strut suspension; check it out or come look at the car

Ok…, I’m not quite 50, close mind you, but to reaffirm what Jim said. I’ve grown up around machine shops, airfields and boat yards with over 40yrs on VW’s and I’m better than average at bastardization and making items do what they weren’t designed to, but your implying it has TWO sway bars. Supers have a Sway-Bar that holds the front trailing arms that’s attached to the front end as a draglink and the visible sway bar I see in your posted picture is not attached.

That fish is beginning to smell.

You make it sound like what's being asked (pics of the front suspension) is unreasonable; people are asking questions because your claims are a little out of the ordinary, and you are trying to sell a car. With a couple of pics people could help you identify the front suspension, since you are not that knowledgable. As you probably know, it's very frustrating dealing with someone with something for sale when they don't know enough about it. What is an SC suspension? The super beetle front suspension, as said, would not be impossible, but it's certainly not mainstream (I've never seen a plastic tub done that way, and I'm betting no one else on here has either) and it would be far more work to create top strut mounts (in fiberglass) that could withstand the forces thrust upon them.

You're trying to sell the "best in California" (your words); I would think you'd be bending over backwards to show the people what you've got. Btw, the bumper and rocker trim is wrong for a carrera..I'm not trying to rag on you; just trying to help you understand what you have. It is a great looking car- even my 13 year old son said so and these things are not really his thing (he likes the Japanese tuned crap. UGGHHH!!!).

Hope this helps. Al

Yo’Redcat  did you get that picture…, waiting with baited breath?

You know, I can spot a fisherman most anywhere and I see after a quick search…, you’ve been fishing.

Anyway, our site reminds me of Piranha…, one drop of blood in the water and nothing makes it out alive.
