"Speedster Classic" hood emblem

That's the CMC badge.  I'll be happy to send you one for free, when we return home in late February, if you really want it.  Many people swap them out for the Porsche emblem. 

Yup CMC.  FF had their own, IM too (a prancing bull) and I recently saw one with VS.

Ah, that makes sense. I already have the VS badge, but I bought the same one @Terry Nuckels uses. I'll take you up on the CMC badge in another month or so. Enjoy your time away.

You're original weathered one actually looks kool.  It looks like all the enamel has weathered off and just the brass is left.  I bet the brass could be polished to match the PORSCHE gold scripting.  The aluminum hood handle also looks weather - with a lot of fine wet-dry sandpaper and polishing it could be brought back.
