That's looking good Manny!
savor this phase of the project. it was by far the most enjoyable part of the project for me.
Full speed ahead, Manny!
and more!
Rear Emblems, positioned and ready to be mounted, Dual 40/44 Kadron Solex carburetors and engine installed.
Tasks to be still completed:
- Awaiting H-filter canister from powder coating.
- Awaiting Oil filler and canister bracket from E-coating.
- Awaiting upholstery from Autos International will be shipped next week Wednesday from the US to SA.
- Under dash E-brake to be installed.
- Petcock Assembly to be installed
- Heater control knob to be installed
- Fiber glass bumper's to be replaced with steel bumpers (steel Bumpers currently with the repair shop to be painted).
- Stock 77' VW steering column to be replaced with a 66' VW Beetle column and shaft.
- 66' VW Bus Turn Signal Switch to be installed
- Inner side member to be fabricated to give the 356 look
- Tunnel modifications the aim is to obtain that 356 square finish, off course not interfering with the structural strength of the stock tunnel.I might just fiber glass the edges.... still pondering which way forward... might just leave it as stock.
- Convert VW stock pedals to 356 pedals.( currently machining brackets)
- Manufacture and install a pedal board.
- Door Garnish rails to be fabricated.
Still so much to do and the list just seems to get longer, I agree with the statement made when joining this forum "Welcome to the madness"!
i will post more pictures as the project progresses.
