As mentioned in a previous thread, I have built nine pairs of Speedster (top down) "Cruzin" Windows and they are now available to SOC members at a discounted price of $250 a pair plus shipping.

These windows are made of a special green tinted acrylic material that makes them appear to be glass. The green tint is barely visible when looking through the window, but very visible on the polished edges. The chrome plating is very high quality.

The windows were designed specifically to fit Vintage Speedster and are adjustable for any variations between Vintage Speedsters. They may fit JPS Speedsters, but I have not had a chance to try them on a JPS. They can be easily modified to fit other Speedster by drilling 4 new post mounting holes in the windows and mounting hardware.

The windows will also be offered on eBay for $300. It took me quite a bit of time and expense to have these made and I don't know if I will be making anymore when these are gone.

If you are interested in a set, please email me at vanatic99 at yahoo.com

Thanks for the positive comments Mango, Bob, Lane and Alan.

Lane.
They are acrylic, but the green tint on the polished edges makes them look like glass.

Herbert.
Like Alan said, they are not designed to be used as typical Speedster windows. They are for top down cruzing and will totally increase your cars coolness factor!

Keith.
The post placement on a CMC is not the same as on a Vintage, but it would be very easy to modify these to fit a CMC. You have two options. You can drill four holes through the outer bar and the window in the correct locations and either:

1. Thread the bar for a 6-32 phillips stainless steel screw.
2. Pass a screw through from the outside inward and use a stainless steel cap nut to tighten down the posts.

If the post holes are too shallow, you can easily cut the posts to the necessary length. The posts can also be bent to adjust the window angle inwards or outwards.

The windows are also sloted where they fasten to the bar, rather than a fixed hole, which allows you to adjust the window forward or backward as needed.

Hello George.
I emailed you, but here is the slightly corrected information about how to modify these to fit a CMC.

The post placement on a CMC is not the same as on a Vintage, but it would be very easy to modify these to fit a CMC. You have two options, 1 requires tapping the bar and 2 does not. You can drill four holes through the outer bar and the window in the correct locations and either:

1. Tap the bar for a 6-32 phillips stainless steel screw.
2. Pass a 6-32 phillips stainless steel screw through from the outside inward and use a stainless steel cap nut to tighten down the posts on the inside of the window.

If the post holes are too shallow, you can easily cut the posts to the necessary length. The posts can also be bent to adjust the window angle inwards or outwards.

The windows are also sloted where they fasten to the bar, rather than a fixed hole, which allows you to adjust the window forward or backward as needed.

If you use a credit card, the buyer then pays the 2.9% PayPal fee for a "gift" transaction, instead of seller paying. Seems like a bad idea to me, although I'm sure you mean well. PayPal has some built-in protections for buyers that are voided by a "gift" transaction. I use PayPal almost exclusively in my business. At 2.9%, I think PayPal is a bargain, and I don't mind paying it for convenience.
Hi Troy,

I love the cruzin windows you have put together. Great fit, a very tasteful design, and the greenish tint is an amazing touch. However, I would like a set with a slightly taller profile. I'd like them to be about the same height as the windshield, maybe slightly lower.

2 questions:
1. Can you make a set with taller windows?
2. If not, can I buy a set of post mounting hardware and rubber from you? I can cut my own plexi for the window.

Let me know.

Thanks!
I still have a few sets of Speedster (top down) "Cruzin" Windows and they are available on eBay for $300 (item# 220942804149 ) or to SOC members at a discounted price of $250 a pair plus shipping.

I am currently making some of the window rails specifically for CMC and other Speedsters. They will not have the holes circled in the picture below and you will need to either drill and tap them in the correct location for your car or just drill them and use machine screws from the outside in with cap nuts on the inside. The windows will also need to be drilled. Should be a pretty simple modification.
Or, I guess you could also drill two new side curtain sockets in your door headers.

Matt. I know it seems like full sized windows would be a hit, but I don't think so. They would not seal at the windshield frame like your regular side curtains do. I don't cut these or polish the edges myself, I have them done professionally by a specialty plastics company. Due to differences between each Speedster manufacturer and in the fit of each top, every set would have to be specially cut to a template provided by the buyer.

But, you could always buy a set of these for summer time use and then use the hardware to make your own full size windows for winter time use. This does not apply to California residents, because we don't have winters here. ;-)

So, Troy and Gang.  I saw these with my last speedster and didnt buy because I was selling.  But, have been thinking with my new one maybe getting a set.

1.  Are there any left - Troy??

2. Anyone who has them noticing any ill effect after this long of use...meaning any rattling after a while or anything like that?

I am sure they fit and finish are perfect, but since they have been out now for a year, just wondering what the consensus is?
