Speedster does a 14.48s pass.

Here are a couple of images of both my Speedster replica and Spyder replica at a recent drag meeting. The Speedster (1914 44 Webers etc) did a 14.48s and the Spyder (Subaru WRX 2ltr turbo) did a 12.1s pass. Check out the arse squat on the Speedster!

I drove the Spyder, and a mate who usually drives a turbo Beetle drag car gave the Speedster a workout. Yeah they allow me to drive the Spyder and Speedster without bars and roof as the're street cars??? (<11 seconds before a bars required I think)
The Spyder's getting a new bar next week I hope.
We lowered the boost on the Spyder to 10psi after the first run due to boost spiking (20 psi) in the higher gears shutting the fuel off (an ECU command), but at that sort of boost it sure was fun!!!!

Back before Calif had too many lawyers we would go grudge racing on Friday nights at teh Fremont Drag strip. I had a Ford Falcon Sprint converible that I regularly dragged. No bar, no shoulder belts, bald tires. Just another car crazy california kid back in the 60s.
