Smokin deal on what looks like an older Itermechanica Roadster.
If I only had the cash, it would be fun to see if I could call (and close the deal) quicker than Alan can.

Yes, Angela, Alan is probably on his way to pick it up, otherwise he'd be responding. I called the guy and he said he had received plenty of interest. This thing was only an hour or two away from me.
There's a white car exactly like this one in Wisconsin that was an Internet scam. I'm probably wrong, but man it looks like that. It was in Green Bays CL, Chicago, and Milwaukee's CL ad....
Why didn't I see this #!&%*! ? Oh wait I was working today....
For that IM, I would have went out and trailered back myself.
No, it wasn't me but I am buying a red CMC from Colorado :~)

I'm curious as to what makes you folks think it's an Intermeccanica?
Unless IM has really changed their builds it doesn't fit with my car in a lot of ways: no rubber under the headlights, pedals crammed together, steering offset to center, handbrake on tunnel top, two heat levers, locks not integral in handles, and probably more if I spent more time looking.
Also, was IM even making roadsters in their pan days? I think their roadster was an IM frame from it's 1980 inception.
...just sayin'

and another thing...the car is supposed to be in Illinois but has Calif. plates and a massachusetts insp. sticker?
why would anyone think this might be a scam? (rolleyes here)

Ken, there were earlier generation VW pan based IM's that are nothing like your car. As for this car, it looks like a CMC with the optional Roadster top/Roll up window option. The hood badge reads "Speedster Classic" which was a CMC issue.

Ken, those are Wisconsin plates on the car (whatever it is) and the car was being sold out of Richmond, IL just across the border in Illinois near Lake Geneva, WI.
When I spoke with the seller (ever so briefly), I did not get a feeling it was a scam. He immediately stated it had been sold, mentioned in what seemed like an honest way, that he had received plenty of interest on the car, suggested I stop by his place whenever I wanted to. For what it's worth, the car is now off the market unless it materializes again. Maybe the new owner might find this and respond here to our questions, then we'll all know for sure. I even Google mapped the street sign location and it surely was in the town it was advertised at. Notice the street signs of East and Broadway...you can see those same houses in the background in Richmond, IL. Now I know you can't always trust those Bears fans from IL, but this all seemed to be on the up and up...even though he never states in his ad that it was an IM.

OK, I'm too suspicious sometimes. although the photo(s) of the plate are oblique it DOES resemble one of the California offerings with the blob (sun) in the lower right corner. Wisconsin copied that?? The sun?? LOL! ...I'm only kidding (for any cheeseheads in here).
It's a farm scene...where the cows are not as happy as in California, especially in the winter.

Born and raised, fifty years a third generation Californian. I can tell you that that 'Happy Cows' business is a myth. :)
Yes, Ken, I agree, when I have visited CA, I've never been impressed with their demeanor.
Ouch!
Expect for the our SOC guys and gals, they are A-OK in my book!
I think Rich was talking about the cows, guys. I think.
Hey Jimbo, what's with "Thonotosassa,FL US"? You're kidding, right?
