Was cruising ebay and ran accross this ad. Seems James Webby who I sold the car to has passed and his widow is selling it. He was a member here for at least a while. Sad.

Hi Ben,
Well; Another is going to bite the dust for me! This looks like a steal to me; If I ever saw one!
It`s too bad that the hubby passed on.
Just curious; Is she "Ivory" or "White"?
Regards, Russ

Ben,
I think Jim Webby sold the car a couple of years ago.
I exchanged a series of emails with him about 914 seats. Since he lived nearby, I asked to see his car. He told me he sold it.
I am pretty sure it was the subsequent buyer that died and not Jim.

Wow, that's a relief. Jim is a nice guy. When Jim was looking for a car he said it was a present for his wife. That is the way the ebay ad ran...
I think the car was painted an Ivory color.

Hi Ben,
Do you know who made this car.I would like to bid on it,but it seems like the seller representing the widow is unsure of the make. Thanks for your help in advance.Tom

I'm pretty sure it is a CMC.
If you look under "jwe2bal" you can see photos of the car that are still here on the site.
Thanks Mike for the update. Now I will do some research on CMC,although by the look of the pictures and reading old posts,it looks like Jim assembled and built the car himself.
I did the pan. Had the body sanded and fitted then I sold it to Jim. I put a new beam in and 4 wheel disc brakes. The pan is coated with por15. Everything was new and the tranny was rebuilt. Jim did the rest. It was a CMC car and it came from Del Reo Texas.
You can see it in the background of this picture.

Well, Gaat,
Looks like you have the genuine article there.
If you're on the up and up, please let us know what you're asking price is.
You probably have figured out by now that this is a site for Speedster replicas.
May I suggest you also take a look on the magnetic side as well:
