Speedster in Memphis/TN ?

Hi folks !
Seems like I will be moving to Memphis beginning next year and I am already thinking about getting a fun car to drive around over there.

I live in Germany (near Frankfurt) and I have briefly owned a Beck 550 Spyder. Had to sell it b/c we had 4 cars then which was too much.

Since I'm not too familiar with Memphis weather, I'd like to hear from you what you think about using a speedster as a daily driver.

I'm very much into the authentic look which I guess started after buying the Beck 550 some years ago.

John H is being too modest, I believe I spied possum fur stuck to his front bumper back when we cruised together.

Memphis weather ain't very different from Nashville weather, where I am. I would guess you can count on driving your replica maybe 70% of the time if you want to avoid rain. We get rain for a day now and then and sometimes 2 or 3 days in a row. Summers are hot and HUMID. In recent years there has not been much snow to affect driving here, John probably sees more snow in mountainous east TN where he is.

Not much into road kill Mike, although I'm sure some of the locals know of special ways of preparing delicious meals using same. What Knoxville does have for the second time, after a long hiatus, is its own micro brewery, hand crafted beer, or ale, to be more precise. I will bring some to Carlisle to share. In the meantime, I'll be sampling some other local specialties.

Actually, in the valley in east TN where I live there is very little snowfall. Now if you take a drive into the mountains, it's a different story. Roads in the national park frequently close down due to very dangerous driving conditions. The last big snow storm experienced here in the valley was in the early 90's, about 14", but that was before my time and it was reportedly gone quite quickly.

Actually, the fur Greg saw on my Cabrio was from a fur-bearing greater Crocagator. This is a mean critter and I was glad to do him in. They are not very good to eat though, unless you have plenty of good red wine and a favorite Cajun cookbook. I have the former but not the latter.
