I am interested in a vintage speedster and I am located in Minnesota (willing to drive anywhere in MN, ND, SD, IA, or WI to test drive). Looking to spend up to $16,000. Also have a 1983 bmw r100rs motorcycle that I would love to trade towards the speedster ($3,000 trade-in value???) I am a serious buyer, I have been looking to do this for 11 years!

Chad, I know of an older CMC speedster here in Des Moines, Iowa. The guy has had if for sale for a couple of years. He owns an IM D also, but I don't think its for sale. Its a nice 10 foot car. In other words from 10 feet it looks really nice. Up close it has some wear and tear. The good news is the mechanicals are excellant and the price is in the 10-12k range. I can't really remember what he wants for it anymore. It might be a good bargain depending on whats important to you. I actually would have bought it just for the summer and then sold it if I had known my new car wasn't going to be finished until this week, but oh well, not every summer has to be "corvette summer"
Hi Chad, I live in Milwaukee and will be offering mine for sale in the Spring. You're welcome to come check it out. It's a Vintage with all the bells and whistles and under 6,000 miles. Black on black is the color scheme. I'd say she's a 6 footer using Steven's convenient grading system. Give me a holler if you want to hear or see more, otherwise I'm going to be out on the road enjoying the ultimate driving season here in the Midwest. Autumn....nothing like shootin' through the twisties with all the different colors on the trees.
If I had to sell it now, it would be $16,000, but if I get to drive it for 2 more months, it drops to $15,000. Isn't that great? SOmetimes patience really is rewarded. I'll try to get some photos posted this weekend so you can eyeball it, but if you've seen a black Vintage.....that's what it looks like. You can check their website. We can talk anytime you like.
