My silver girl was recently featured in a nice web video for the Mountain Shadows Resort here in Paradise Valley, a Phoenix suburb.

I’m sure many of you have been asked to provide your Speedsters for one sort of cool thing or another — a Speedster makes every facet of life better, doesn’t it?

Even in a metro area of 4 million souls, this little car stands out, and always seems to be in demand...

Click the link for the video — the car is featured in the first 20 seconds...

Love it! Just wish they had featured more of the car (love you steering wheel, btw)!!

Thanks, @30West!

I was shocked that the editor cluttered up the video with so much of the blonde and the Richard Gere impersonator and the resort, when there was certainly ample time available for much more of the Speedster!

Oh, and thanks — that IS a pretty shot of her steering wheel... 😌 It’s a Nardi upgrade from Carey and the boys at Beck.

Wow, Cory, this just enhances your reputation as an international man of mystery.

I just hope that what happens in Paradise Valley, stays in Paradise Valley.

Mitch, you’re too kind! 😊

I AM certified as a REGIONAL Man of Mystery, but the international qualification committee (the IQC) is still looking over my paperwork...

I thought it was the International Manly Actors Qualification Team or IMAQT (see what I did there) organization that was in charge of that.

Again with the painting cedar white though... When you're done with that minor chore I have a 60 ton boulder for you to roll up this hill....

I use a boulder when I explain the difference between simple and easy.   It's simple to move a boulder, you just need a lever and a fulcrum.    But it's not always easy finding a big enough lever or a sturdy enough fulcrum.

Well, at least Stan will have plenty to do to keep paint on that Cedar fence.  We did a cedar fence on one side of the lot when we lived on the bay in Rhode Island and we thought it would look good painted white.  That was before we learned everything there is to know about “Tannin Bleed” and moisture absorption.  I was out there every spring and fall for 8 years, re-painting that damn fence.  The final cure was getting the exact same look, but in a Vinyl fence.  Never touched it after that.

Years ago I sided a house for a friend of mine. It was a Victorian with cedar shakes in a precise dental pattern. The friend needed them all primed—both sides—before installation. Had to use a particular oil-based primer. There was a long instruction sheet.

This was a great house and deserved the attention to detail but wtf?

And don't get me started on the exterior crown mouldings—custom milled from cedar, at great cost in time and treasure—that basically exploded as soon as you tried to drive a nail in 'em.

The all-copper flashing was a whole 'nother bag of pure enjoyment...

I thank my lucky stars I was not roped in to do any slate work on the roof.

Actually the vinyl is a replica wood fence, isn't it?

At the Peoria house I built 538 feet of scalloped picket fence out of western red cedar and stained it white, after primer. Still had to re-stain it every couple of years to keep it white. The paint on the pickets eventually weighed more than the pickets themselves. A little like all that stuff at Pompeii encased in volcanic ash.
