That color is killer! Is it Anthracite, or close to it? I LOVE that color on small slippery shapes!

You're right in that it's all in the details and trim, but right now your dealing with shades of black, gray and aluminum. Just imagine how elegant the gold Porsche script is going to look against the color, and the Speedster script on the dash . . . just beautiful.

NICE!!

It's Porsche Seal Grey. I've spoken to a few people, and everyone likes it but me !

Having said that, it's growing on me. For some reason it wasn't quite what I was expecting when I saw it, I thought it would be a couple of shades lighter. But it was very overcast this morning, and the car had dark shadows on it from all sides. Hopefully it will look good out in the sun, with all the parts you mention fitted.

Anyway, thanks for your kind comments !

TC's right, that color will be a killer!

Imagine parking it next to all those other "same-silver-as-each-other" Speedsters......your slightly darker version is really going to "pop"!

My car is Pearl White, and I'm always impressed when I park next to the cars with original Porsche Ivory and see how different (and cool) it looks. You'll find the same effect with your color and the many silvers out there.

Good luck with it!!

Guys, thanks for your kind comments. I think I'll have to see it to believe it, I'm still not %100 about it at the moment. Hope you prove me wrong !

Gordon, that's exactly why I went for this, I wanted something a little different from all the cars running around the UK in variations of polar silver. Don't get me wrong, that's a great choice of colour, but in the UK there seems to be much less variation in colo(u)r than in the US.
Jon:

I had originally wanted a Black Speedy, but then changed my mind when I started seeing all the pictures of other Black Speedsters - probably more than the Silver ones!!

Almost went with the Porsche Ivory (it has a longer name than that) but finally landed on 1999, Audi Pearlescent White. Very happy that I did - I've never seen another one that colour (yet)!

Porsche Seal Gray was the route I wanted to go if I had a Speedster built. I was also going to go with the Porsche Cinnamon interior. I think the Dark gray top would look good too. What color top are you going with?

I got my color ideas from the Porsche website by customizing a Boxster. But as luck would have it, I met a great guy from this site who sold me his beautiful black VS.
Jon,

Don't ever complain about the weather in England!

Since moving from London to Detroit four years ago I have learned, in retrospect, to appreciate weather that it not trying to constantly come up with new and interesting ways to do you harm!

Since living in Michigan i have experienced +50C summers and -20C winters. You have not been cold until you've walked outside in your underwear in minus 20 flipping degrees celsius!

I've also seen everything from rain so hard it gave my dog concussion to rain that freezes on contact with the ground and so covers everything with a thick layer of ice. My wife tried to round the bend in our road last week and found that she was in fact just an observer and not in control whatsoever. Luckily it was just my wingmirror, the neighbours mailbox and her pride that were bent.

And don't even get me started on the tornadoes - the warning system sounds like an air raid siren. It's like being in the blitz!

Anyway, I think you chose a top colour by the way. My project is actually the ivory (Elfenbein auf Deutsch). I wasn't sure at first, but as I put more of the trim onto it, I'm liking it more and more.

Cheers,

Jim.
