Speedster mileage records

Charles Gardner mentioned on another thread that he thought that John Hallstrand and I have the most miles in a Speedster. I said I thought David Stroud had us both beat. I believe Charles was talking TRIP mileage---not total mileage.

Surely Jim Ignacio has the most total miles on a Speedster with an amazing 80,000 miles(130,000km), and pretty much trouble free in his like new Vintage. This is good to know and may encourage those who think their cars are best left in the garage rather than being really driven.

This will be encouraging to the "Shark Doc" in Miami who needs to know that reliability is attainable.

Compared to Jim my mileage is paltry at 31,000 ---what are some other totals others have put on their cars?

Fred McKenney, from Annapolis, has 130,000 legit miles (not clicks) on a 1979 Intermeccanica.

I've been working with Fred and tinkering with the car off and on for a month or so, and he's just about ready to log some more miles. Other than a weld in the case to fix a crack and some much-needed welding in his chassis, it's doing fine.

It LOOKS like it's been through the mill, but he's thinking of bringing it to Carlisle in May. He and I will sit across the way, among the unwashed Cobra and Avenger folks, so as not to embarrass you guys whose cars are presentable.

I have about 65,000 miles on mine. Peanuts compared to some of you road warriors, but each mile seems to get more enjoyable!
