Speedster replica

I have just purchased a Speedster replica and looking forward to learning more about the car and enjoying it (hopefully). The car did not come with a convertible top, side curtains or tonneau. Are these available commercially? Where? Secondly, the car is black and the interior is red - what are the correct colour choices for the top and tonneau? I'd like to go with tan but not sure its age-appropriate. Also, wire grid covers for the headlights and luggage rack ? Where can they be found?

Let me be the first to say "Welcome to the madness!" You're going to hear that a lot.

First, post pictures of the car if you can. Inside, outside,door panels, dash board etc. if you don't know the original source for the kit, or the manufacturer of the car. Check for an ID plate as well.

There are so many knowledgeable folks on this site that you can literally get any question you have answered pretty quickly.

Check the Makers and Shops tabs at the top for some sources for accessories. Post what you wanr in the classified section as well. Never know what spares people have lying around as well.

What's the right color combination? What do you want to replicate? Original as possible, outlaw, somewhere in between?

I have black CMC with fire engine red interior. Came with a black vinyl top/tonneau which I switched out for a VS (Vintage Speedster - see Makers tab) supplied tan Haartz Cloth top/tonneau. The black was just too much black. Side curtains are best custom make to fit your unique top and windshield placement - do search here on Forum as there are ones folks built with pictures and steps. A VS luggage rack will not fit a car with a FF/CMC cast hibachi grille. I went with a used AMMCO one. There are OEM ones from Lietz, Reutter and others. Look on THESAMBA - there was a guy that sold a stainless steel replica luggage rack.
