Peter,
Glad to hear that you are mostly OK sir but sorry to hear of your unfortunate encounter. Since the topic of Speedster safety comes up often on this board, you now have the dubious distinction of being an expert witness in the area of field testing the crashworthiness of these cars. I'm very unhappy for you, but maybe something good will come out of it which we can all learn something from.
Thanks for the first report.

This kind of stuff gives me the gitters.

But Im glad your OK!!!

I realy wish to be kept in the loop on you ongoing repair since front a rear end colisions are the statistial magarity . Please take pictures as it's repaired

What I realy worry about is being browd sided . I did add a pipe brace in my doors when I re engineered them for rollup windows,

I still wonder if it would not tear lose at the latch end in a impact. That was the weakest point, due to the space constraints cause by windows.

I added a striker support as well on the rear door post supports. They are a floating design I saw somewhere .Their not suppose to stress the glasswork. Time will tell
It dosen't look too bad in these images. Kinda makes feel better when I look at them. I've contacted the manfacturer (Platinum Speedsters New Zealand) and they will glass me up a new corner in their moulds and ship out here to Australia. They have just moved and this is why they have had some contacting problems. Their website is down at the moment but will be up again soon. They are great guys and were very helpful and PROMPT!

Well, today I tested the collision strength of a Speedster Replica. A Toyota took the front left corner off the Speedster (yikes, my fault by the way!) But the Toyota front end was trashed bigtime and will be written off. No injuries apart from my little toe dosen't appear to be pointing in the same direction it did yesterday? I was wearing rubber thongs on my feet, (flip flops) and on impact my little toe got hooked up on the break pedal. Trashed the banjo steering wheel from leaning on it. I should be able to get another front left pulled from the same mold in NZ I hope.
I'll post some images tomorrow when I pick the Speedster up from the compound. Hmmmmmm, Tuesday the 13th?
I don't know...I don't know. Admin asked me the same thing a while ago...ago. I only click send once but it still happens....happens....
Auckland did have a couple of Speedster builders there, Platinum and Graham MaRae Racing. MaRae built my Spyder but I know he sold his Speedster moulds recently.
Next time your in Auckland take a trip out to Platinum Speedsters
5/90 Elizabeth Knox Place, Panmure Ph Local 5277617. Nigel Scott.
SO after you get your toe situaited. Who gets to put the old and new glass work together. and play finger paint in the resin.

Now me, Im brave I wouldn't think twice about doing it myself.

I would need to have some meaurements taken form a undamged body from the same manufacturers molds And you will need check the hood fitment, several times, Glue up a inch here and their in simple stages. checking and rechecking as you go

When I did the trunk in the D,It suprised me how a little mis measure could cause big hood gaps. I am glad I didn't glue it all up at once. it was pretty easy to correct.

What every you decide I feel sure it will sharp as ever ,when its done.

And Yes , I am glad your OK hicups and all. , But if you have any more foot troubles call a toe truck. (Sorry,I just couldn't resist)
Peter: Double-clicking.......saw this on my neighbor's PC and found a way to help:

Check the settings for the mouse button you're clicking "send" with. You'll have to go to "start", then "settings" then control panel and then click on "mouse". Should be some configuration settings in there for you under "buttons". Make sure the one for your "send" clicking button is set for "normal select, Normal Drag". It almost looks like your button is set up for auto-double-click, causing your posts to send twice.

Hope this helps........Gordon
