Hi Guys. I'am Tim from the UK. Thanks for letting me post on your brilliant web site. Your general chat always make me smile and i always feel jealous as it always seems sunny and warm in the USA, perfect speedster weather. One quick question, has anybody got any pictures of what was the correct type of seat that was fitted in the Speedster.? All help greatly recieved.

thanks Tim

Will post pictures of my Speedster in near future.

And you should know that these seats, like the cars they came with are -- how can I say?? -- spartan. The truth is that while they are very cool, they are also not all that comfy, at least for long hauls. Some of the newer versions keep the basic shape and style to a high degree but have added a bit more padding and so that helps. Note also the lack of a head restraint. Put it all together, and you see lots of folks here w/ Miata seats, which apparently fit, have head restraints and are easier on the back and derrier. There are several other variations managed, but all else will not be true Speedster-style. You want comfy or the authentic look?
Try Summit Racing - The universal seat heater is 250-1550 ($100) with button switch that lights up (I think) or one with cutable carbon fiber pads (if ya want them smaller) is 250-1802 ($110). Ya might check ebay too and save $10 - Rostra is brand. Lumbar support would probably be 250-1454 ($100). Not sure about cruise - many take vacuum or mondern speed sensors. Other than "hi-miler ARK" Jack Crosby - no one I know puts enough time behind the wheel to justify. HA, in a '69 bug a brick on pedal would get you 70 MPH! Not sure what seat heaters draw (6-8 AMPs?)- but ya might want to make sure you have 55AMP alternator vice old 30AMP generator.
