In the neighborhood I live in now everyone is very private. Nobody seems to talk to each other -- not even a wave hello. Granted I've only lived in this neighborhood for about 6-7 months so I might just be the newbie who knows nobody. Still, since I've lived there I've never seen any Speedsters other than mine or the SOC'ers who've come over. And this particular car I've never seen before or since and I'm outside all the time playing with my kids!
David Speedster"D".... I am about 100 miles from Peabody but I think the weather is pretty close. We stick out into the Atlantic about 40 miles and Peabody is on the north shore approx. The 10 day forcast for the Cape says high temp. around 46 and low 43. That's probably in the ball park. Sweaters and light jackets will be uniform of the day most likely. Bear in mind, April can be a rainy month here. Hope they have a nice trip. Al
Speedster"D"... Thanks. I'm just starting to take it for longer and longer rides and trusting that I will get it home under it's own power. As I work the bugs out I find that there might have been a lack of sched. maint., but we'll git'er done.
Your wife may need the classic "sweater and jacket combo" to be comfortable up here. It could get to 60 on Wed.& Thurs. Al
Hi, guys, it's interesting hearing there are so many speedsters around. I drive mine daily ( except rainy days) and only once in the past year have I seen another speedster in the San Dimas, La Verne Claremont and Upland areas. I work six days a week and coach on the weekends and would love to get to more gatherings, but it will have to wait until after July. Would love to get together w/speedsters in the inland empire and do a run up here some time.
Yeah... I only know of one other Speedster in my area, and it's a steel one. The owner is my dentist and he wants to sell it and buy a Spyder, probably a Beck's, something he can actually drive daily and not worry about it as much as he does. I think he could buy 2 and have money left over. ....San Dimas...Isn't that "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"?
Hi alan...Yes that's in San Dimas. Next town over La Verne has the church from the "Graduate" and "Best of the Best" was filmed in the gym (supertents) at the U. of La Verne. All these towns nestle along the foothills and have the feel of california from about 50 years ago. These towns still have the old hardware stores and feed stores (yes there are still Starbucks). They all still have old town areas w/ open air markets, car shows, etc. We are 20 min to skiing and 45 min to the beach. Nice area to live in.
Hi Adrian, We live in a gated community w/ lots of new folks moving in and I have to say it's not just being new to the area, but people just don't seem to be as friendly and they sure don't like to wave back. It must be the sign of the times. All the more reason for us tub owners to gather once in awhile.
Jack, I agree with you -- in the neighborhood where I bought my first house we had block parties all the time with our neighbors and we all helped each other through our respective trades whenever it was needed. The neighborhood where I live in now sure is a lot less friendly.

In any case, I'm with Gabe. Let's try to get something going this Saturday! Guys, as always my home is open if you guys want to meet there or end there for ice cream in Upland. Its about a 20 minute cruise from my house with a view of the mountains.
