Michael, I have never seen a repro 356 steering wheel (except the wood kind). There are a number of places you can buy reconditioned originals, including Banjo and 356A an Pre-A wheels.

These guys seem to have a large selection, but hold onto you hat when it comes to price:

Another place to look is the 356 Registry. I think you can shop their online classified ads without joining (if not, it is a good thing to join anyway). That is where I found my 356 wheel, button, column and turn signal switches.

Finally, there is always Ebay and TheSamba.

Reproduction banjo steering wheels are available at the links mentioned. There is no one currently doing reproduction "original" steering wheels such as the one that looks so nice in Dan's car. I have however, seen examples of original style that had a wood rim installed to replace the plastic rim. $$$$$$$
