Ken,

Give me an E Mail,or call. I just reduced the price $1000, that should make the Red more appealing! John Leader and I got our Speedies months apart and remain good friends. We did the same thing on our Speedsters, got bigger engines so since you would probably do the same after a short time, it is already done. Oregon is not really that far, we are in far Southern Oregon, just over the California line! Easy drive! or trailer it back in one day.

Ken, Bruce makes a nice point with the engine size. I wouldn't accept anything less than a 2110cc. I currently have a 1776cc which came with my car, but it has been two and a half years and I still haven't found the time or money to upgrade the engine and trans yet. Do it up front my friend.

Also, Bruce's car's history is pretty well documented throughout this website since he has been a member for a long time. Bruce may say to trailor it back??? No way. Have your wife, girlfriend, or somebody drive you up, because you will definitely want to drive the Speedster home. Tip: Wear sunscreen.

Good luck on your car search!
I just gave my Miata convertible to my son so I'm well aware of the sunscreen situation. Just this morning I was looking at Medford on the map figuring a one day drive to San Francisco then back to Orange County. We'll see. I do want to go to the show at Knott's next week and see what's going on there. That's where I fell in love with John Leader's car several years ago but at that time was not in the position to buy that I'm in now.
Ken - fly to Medford. Ten minutes to Bruce's garage. Drive it home. I-5 south to Shasta, cut over the mountains to Reno, down 395. Fast roads, two lane, mostly deserted on weekdays. Much more suited to speedsters than hum-drum I-5 through central valley.

Or, from Medford, you can take the redwood highway down to Crescent City on the coast highway. Follow it all the way to L. A. Warning, driving the coast highway on weekdays, can make you quit your day job!
Ken; I personaly know Bruce and I have driven with him up in Oregon, and his red speedster is a very well put together. I would definatly recomend his speedster. You will not find another in that condition for the money. Should you go for it, I won't be worried about driving back home, no worries. This car has been really cared for and is like buying it new. It even has a new 2110 motor, Bruce is a very much a car enthusist and really shows on his RED speedster. Buy it, you won't have any regrets, and maybe we can get together on some runs.
