Watch it...you are in dangerous territory. Unless you have steeped yourself in the ins and outs of these cars and the various configurations, options, engine sizes, wheels, etc., you may well find that you have purchased a car for too much money, then be faced with making a ton of costly changes that might have been found later in a car that was perfect for you.....had you only waited.

 

What I'm saying is: take your time; attend some Speedster events, talk in person to Speedster owners, and take several months learning about these cars. Above all, listen to what the SOC members say.

SAS cars occasionally come up  for sale.  

I too like the 911s but repairs/parts are just so costly and they are complicated to work on.  A replica Speedster, as others have stated, is great bang for the $.  I had used early '66 911 that has forever scared me from owner another - dreaded timing chain tensioners and rust (that has been remedied in later years). I even had the oil dry sump rust out. Sure was a pretty car though.
