Definitely for the working dude who needed to bring a crew to the job site.
I thought about big old cars where you could have your girl sitting close to you. The bench seat also facilitated other activities.
The bench seat was a regular option on the very early Speedsters and remained in the options list until the last of the T6B cars. I was told that less than 300 were ever made, but don't know how accurate that really is. We've fabricated a replica of this bench seat exactly 1 time in all of our cars. Never had it requested again and hopefully it stays that way... it was a b!t&# to make.
I'd rather just go for one with a full back seat (replica) -
I actually like the look but in modern times, it looks weird to have a 4 speed and bench seats. But yeah, a hard right and your girl slides right over beside you ....
I think it is pretty cool. Thanks Mike.
Can anyone explain to me how they can arrive at 234 miles driven on this restored 1956 speedster? Is that original miles?
How 'bout a brand new shiny Speedometer at restore??

So when you restore a speedster the odometer is usually replaced so it starts all over? Please bare with me. Thx
Actually, you'd only replace it if it was cosmetically shot to hell. If it still looked good but just didn't work, either No. Hollywood or Palo Alto Speedometer can replace the innards with "Gen-U-Wine" VDO guts. They'll ask if you want it to read the original mileage or start over in miles from scratch. If the engine is rebuilt, I, personally, think you should "start over." You're definitely not fooling anyone...'cause it's obvious that a 60+ yr. old Speedster in this primo restored condition is sure as hell gonna have more than a few hundred "original" miles.

The CMC my father gave me only has 300 miles on it. And that is real... but it has a lot of patina and also required a ton of work to be done to get it back on the road. I didn't realize how bad everything had gotten from sitting for 3 decades.
