Dirk, there is a thread on here about having badges made.  I think the effort may have stalled out...  so let's get it rolling again.

 

 

This should be based on the level of interest from the people in the forum.
For this I guess we should first collect a list of names who are interested in getting a SpeedsterOwners Badge, right ?

I'm in (Al Blanchette). Rich Drewek (I hope I've spelled it correctly, Rich. My apologies if I haven't and I'll write the correction 30 times!) came up with a very nice design a while back.

I'm in if the price is sane.

We have discussed this before, the badge I uploaded is off of Speedeter D's (Dave G) tub

I gave him that badge years ago, when I sold my 1st tub....

I don't remember who made them, but somebody here should know...

 

The one suggestion I would make is to solder/weld a center post for mounting, instead

of the tabs as shown on the original....would look nicer, in my opinion.....

 

Suggestion....We should make a bunch of them and when someone becomes a "supporting member" they get a badge (at a one time cost of course)

I know some of you may not like this idea, but you all can afford it, and the SOC is obviously

important to you, or you wouldn't be here...even if it's just for the entertainment value....

Buuuut...It slights the 550 jockey to the edge of alienation. Why would they be happy bolting the image of a 356A to their grill??

I very much agree with both of Vince's suggestions. I was going to make the first one.

Carl, you are absolutely right, make a badge with the same design, but with a spyder,

so you can buy either, or both....

Oh, and about the supporting member.  I do like the idea of getting a "special" badge if you are a paying member.. but I 100% feel we should have cool badges for any who want to show support for this group.

Carl, that's ok. I know I don't feel slighted. I pay for membership at Spyderclub and got a couple grill badges from there. I gave one away at the Carlisle raffle a couple years ago.  There are only a few Spyders, my opinion but we don't need to make a badge for a couple people. I do have my 06 Speedster/Spyder badge, that Gordon had done, which has a nice patina on it now. So I'm good.

Did someone say they needed help supporting members...

OK. This looks like there is some real demand for these badges ! Great !

Could do smaller rallye badges like you used to get for sticking on dash at rallyes and gymkhanas.  Or even embroidered jacket patches.  Running out of real estate on my single rear air intake grill.  Resorted to mounting a British AA (Automobile Association - not Alcoholics Anonymous) which my English uncle gave me years ago when I was into British sports cars on the front horn grill.  Saving it for when my son buys a (BMW) Mini.
