What a weekend! What started out last fall as an idea to gather perhaps a dozen owners exceeded all expectations! Sunny & hot covers the weather question.
Played the Match Game matching names to faces and meeting a great bunch of guys that, through this forum we all felt as if we were attending a reunion! Bruce S.& Bill D. that I have met previously. Great to meet Gordon and his son. Carey H. Stacey(what a "funster!") Jerome S.(a talented guy with attention to detail and it shows in his first build!) Bob C, Mike C.and Josie making the run all the way from the "North country ( can't wait for the "Over The Hill Gang " video as well and finally Russ and Marge bees for hauling it from Iowa (Russ if you didn't like the Ramada there was really no need to check in for a one night stay at the Carlisle Hospital....seriously we all are so glad that all checked out A-OK!) and the other 3 dozen plus speedster owners.
Henry Reisner a genuine stand up guy and turning out one heck of a product! John Steele, another fine producer of our rides and for taking the time out of a busy schedule to address the SO.Com and the N.J. Replicar Club at dinner and.... for answering my windshield woes!
Each and everyone of the speedster owners are to be commended for beautiful rides, no two were alike with individual expressions found in each and every speedster.
Lastly and most important, kudos to Bruce Stump ...for all his time and hard work to make this a successful event that I am sure that will be come an annual event!

Alan.......
Thanks Alan, Bill and a zillion other people for making this a super-successful weekend. And special thanks to the wives/right-seaters who helped with the raffle and check-in. There are going to be more photos coming than you can imagine but so far, if you want to see one that opitimizes the Meet take a look at this one from Greg Billesbach - waves and Speedsters as far as the eye can see!:

Eric Geisert from Kit Car magazine posed it then took a similar shot standing on a table....and not everyone made the shoot!

So much in three days. Carlisle usually sees 3 to 5 Speedsters on a weekend and this year there were at least 45...probably more than the east coast has ever seen in one place! Threatening weather all week and they still came. People and cars came that weren't even on my list. Friday morning the weather took a turn for the better, the clouds parted, the sun came out and then only a shower early Saturday morning. An unbelievable variety of Speedsters. 78 people for dinner Saturday night. 1,100 miles was the longest distance driven in a Speedster (and many others in the 3-700 range). 800+ miles was the longest distance trailered (Mike Cochran). Brewski's in the parking lot at night (and on the show field). Lots to see and do at Carlisle. We missed you 2bolts. With that many people you would expect a few complaints and there were none. Sorry, I'm getting verklempt.

More later, I gotta get some sleep!

It was certainly an incredible weekend. The organization and friendship was overwhelming. We were blown away with everyones openess and I would like to thank everyone for making this such a great weekend. All of our cars were different, customized to our personal touch.

You know when people say that their dogs are like their owners? Are we? I thought and saw alot of us in our cars. Jerome is HARD OF HEARING, "nuff said".

It was a long trip for us to come down and back but it was worth the effort. We met so many new friends and saw some great cars. 45 Speedsters. What a great sight that is.

We are home now with some water in Fern but with a big smile and fond memories.

Thanks everyone.....

Kudos, Bruce, Allan, and Robert, you guys did a great job.

Just arrived home about two hours ago, after a stay overnight in Watkin's Glen. Had a horrendous thunder storm during the night, but nice driving back to Ontario, where the weather is cold, wet and windy.

Three days in Carlisle was like being in a southern resort - hot, humid, and a lot of fun.

Congrats to everyone who made it, and to those who wanted to but couldn't.

My hats off to Bruce and Alan and the others for all the hard work and organizing that they did, and for everyone who enjoyed themselves so much.

Bob
