We will be coming from North Carolina with my Spyder.
I have been trying to attend this event for the past two
years! Finally the dates mesh! Room booked at hotel
Carlisle and car registered for the show. Just sent the RSVP
In. Thanks Danny for pushing us to go! It is finally going
to happen! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

We all start from different points, but meet up in Christiansburg, VA on I-81, if not at meeting points along the way. I come from Charleston, SC. Nolon Scott comes up from FL. Gordon Nichols (if he joins us) may come up from Beaufort, SC, unless he's already at his summer house in MA. Jack Crosby comes from Hot Spring, AR. Leon Chupp comes from Gainesville, GA. John Hallstrand comes from just west of Knoxville, TN, and Tom Raymond comes from Johnson City, TN. While Christiansburg, VA may be a bit far west for you, it does make day two of the drive much easier and more fun.

I don't have a map handy to see just how far out of the way that would be. Are you planning a 1 or a 2 day drive?
Spyder Girl,

I live in Lake Lure,NC and just took a look at N.C.map. Looks like going from Camp Lejeune you will travel I-40 to Winston-Salem then over to I-77. I'll be traveling with the group provided I don't hold them back. I have to stop ever hour or so to exercise my new knee. I plan on meeting up with the group firs rest stop outside Statesville on I-77 and then on up to I-81. Be sure that you are not traveling to far West to meet up.

Just a reminder to make your Wednesday night reservation at Christenburg, VA
Just glancing at the map, if I wanted to hook up with the convoy, I'd drive from Richlands to Richmond VA and camp out there on or near I64 Wed. nite. Looks like about a 4 hour ride.
The distance from Christiansburg to the I64/I81 junction looks to be about the same as is Richmond to I81 via I64. If both groups leave about the same time Thurs. morning you should meet one another at the I64/I81 junction. A few rings on the cell would help.
Make any sense?

Just sayin'

Thanks DrClock for your trailer info. We already own a 22 foot Toy Hauler for hubbys race bikes. The problem is the Spyder is one inch bigger then the vehicle compartment. :( we are talking to people in our local car club to see if anyone will have something that fits Spydey. The biggest problem is most have the split wheel decks and the Spyder wheel base is very small. By the way your car is beautiful!!
SpyderGirl - while you're cruising the show grounds at Carlisle be on the lookout for this nefarious group. If you do have the misfortune of encountering this motley crew, slowly put your egg-sammich down and RUUUUUUUNNNNNN...

How come the Pacific islander is the ONLY one not wearing a Hawaiian shirt?
The Toy Hauler is enclosed. We have lifted the clamshell, pulled the car in frontwards, backwards and done everything possible. The problem is since it is a Toy Hauler the Spyder comes up a few inches too long against the bathroom and kitchen area. Trust me, we have done everything we can think of and unless I want to crack fiberglass, it is not going to happen.
