TAP-NY, as in beer tap, Gordon! Look it up, it is at Hunter Mtn. Ski resort. A bunch of brewers have their stuff on tap, for one price, ask you can drink! Designated drivers are a must, as you can imagine......

Alright, I've made the first step and registered today. A $20 investment in entry fees will certainly keep me from backing out now! I communicated with a few of the Illinois and Michigan contingency and a possible caravan conection is in order. Now my next step...LODGING. I've taken a peek at the Hotel Carlisle where it appears many of the SO.com group stay and hold some activities. However, the place gets some pretty bad reviews. Do you guys trash this place everytime you show up? At this stage, I haven't called to see if there's even any rooms available...anyone have any other choices you might recommend? Or should I just brave the bed bugs and cold, rusty water complaints?

They changed management while we were all there last year, so we are hoping that things have improved. I have never had to deal with any bedbugs, but I did have cold water only the first time I was there (2005).

It would appear that the whole lodging scene in Carlisle is rather suspect based on the reviews and attempted calls.

Jack Crosby has assured me that this hotel is where it's at despite cold water. If I can just get through to someone to make a reservation or have someone call me back...well, that would be a bonus.

Okay, I have totally commited myself to this trip (and I might even drag a friend along)...Confirmation # for the Hotel Carlisle (oh, damn, I forgot to request the hot water room!) in hand. Arriving Thursday and staying for the duration. Now who was that that promised me one of these egg sammiches I've been hearing about over and over again?

Keep trying, someone's bound to say yes. Tell them it's a weekend with the nicest bunch of folks they'll ever meet. The cars are nice too. :>)

Ain't got no Honda! The MP Lafer was designed and manufactured by Mr. Percival Lafer from Brazil! He says that it ain't no kit car or replica! I was thinking I might have to drive it, so I've done a wee bit of make ready just in case. Carey has assured me Merlot will be ready to make the trip!

I thought you drove us around in a Honda SUV when we were there. Anyway, the Lafer would be just fine if Merlot's not ready.
