SPEEDSTERS MEET SPYDERS AT CARLISLE – MAY 16-19, 2013 – 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Join us for the 10th anniversary of the Speedsters Meet Spyders weekend in scenic Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  For anyone who has never attended this event - if you own or are thinking of owning a 356 Speedster, Coupe, Cabriolet or 550 Spyder replica - this is THE event you just can’t miss! To everyone who has attended this event before, you know this is a fun-filled weekend...and we plan to go all out again this year with new dining locations, new cruises and a revised schedule (see below).

Dates: Thursday May 16, 2013 thru Sunday May 19, 2013

Location of activities: Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds and surrounding countryside

Host hotel: Courtyards by Marriott, 4921 Gettysburg Road, Mechanicsburg, Pa.  17055

IF YOU’RE COMING TO CARLISLE YOU NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Register here for the Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals: http://store.carlisleevents.co...ProductCode=2013-702

(NOTE: The registration fee will go on sale for a short time starting December 14 so you might want to wait until then).  All Carlisle Import/Replica event-related info - INCLUDING REGISTRATION INFO - can be found at that site.  IMPORTANT! When registering, please specify your club as “SPEEDSTER OWNERS”.

2. Reserve a room at the host hotel – Courtyards by Marriott Mechanicsburg.  You can find the details on how to reserve your room(s) here: https://www.speedsterowners.com...ent/6922313077436295

3. Complete the RSVP questionnaire included later in this thread and email it to “bstumpp at comcast.net” so we can save spots for you at the cruises and dinners.

What's happening during the weekend? The Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals weekend has MANY things happening import- and replica-related so check their website, watch for updates, and sign-up to receive their emails.  In addition to Carlisle’s activities we’ll be fender-to-fender at the fairgrounds during the day plus doing cruises, dinners, go-kart races, raffles, bench racing, partying, a car giveaway and more from Thursday through Sunday. You can expect to meet many owners from all over the United States and Canada and probably other parts of the world as well, plus meet the top Speedster and Spyder manufacturers and see their products.

For the ladies: There is a pool at the hotel for your relaxing pleasure and some of you may want to organize a shopping/lunch trip into town.  Also, if you have space, bring your lawn chairs for socializing under our tent at the fairgrounds.

For anyone flying in without a Speedster or Spyder, you may order event pass tickets for the weekend either on-line at the link above or simply buy event tickets when you arrive at Gate 3 and tell them you’re with the “SPEEDSTER OWNERS”.

SPEEDSTERS MEET SPYDERS AT CARLISLE – MAY 16-19, 2013

Keep in mind, this is a meet and not a competitive show, if you can get your Speedster, Coupe, Cabriolet or Spyder there - regardless of its condition - bring it. There will be awards for the longest distance driven by a Speedster and a Spyder and the longest distance trailered by a Speedster and a Spyder. And you're welcome even if you can't bring your car or are still shopping for one. Come on out and join us, we’ve had as many as 60+ cars in attendance and this may prove to be our biggest year yet! Watch this thread for updates and announcements.

Other than your Carlisle registration and the Saturday and Sunday evening dinners you don’t have to pay anything else in advance – just pay as you go.  One exception: we ask that everyone bring a contribution (new parts, products, goodies, memorabilia, etc) for the annual raffle held at the hotel Saturday evening.

One last thing: PLEASE complete the RSVP questionnaire (see below) and let us know the details of your plans so we can plan accordingly.

Come out and join us, you won’t be disappointed!

Drive ‘em, tow ‘em, trailer ‘em, but get them there somehow!!
"East Coast" Bruce

Theron,

Thanks for the offer but I created a new thread (this one) and closed the older incorrect one.

Mike,

I'm checking into the block party.  Last year was the first one and they had some teething problems.  One of our guys drove down this year but he said there wasn't anything going on.  I sent an inquiry to our Carlisle contact asking for info.

SAVE $ on your Carlisle showfield registration - December 14 thru January 2

The following holiday offer - 20% off the $35 weekend registration - was announced today:

"HOLIDAY SALE - THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYALTY AND SUPPORT HOLIDAY SALE - THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYALTY AND SUPPORT
Sale Begins December 14th

From December 14, 2012 through January 2, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. we'll be having an event-wide Holiday Sale. Save a total of 20% off per showfield car registered. This offer includes the already discounted Gate-N-Gate pre-registration prices.

This is a limited time offer and our way of saying, "Thank you! We appreciate your support and look forward to the 2013 season."

When registering online, discounts will be applied at checkout. Phone orders will also be accepted at 717-243-7855 through Friday, December 21, 2012 at 5 p.m.

With a sale like this, there is no reason to EVER pay full price to attend an event at Carlisle."

Don't wait, register today!!

There might be some confusion with the Carlisle registration so I'll clarify...

When you go onto the Carlisle website to register, the first two choices are "2013 Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals NON-JUDGED IMPORT Showfield" and "2013 Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals KIT Showfield".  The second one is the choice for everyone since we will be in that section and not the import section.

Also, it's important that you specify the club as "Speedster Owners" since we always compete for recognition for the most number of registrations.

Trust me, but between Bruce or me running this event for ten years next year AND working with the Carlisle Registration ladies closely over the years, they are the nicest people in the world.  Very understanding and capable of doing a lot with your registration after the fact to make it "right".

If you are wondering if you are registered properly, just call their toll-free number and ask for "registration" and ask them.  If you're not, they'll fix it for you lickety-split.

gn

ECB....a large thanks again for you and your associates for putting this great event together. We're sure looking forward to it. But...being computer stunned, could you please explain how one completes your registration form shown above ? Do we right click on something, fill it out and email it to you or what ? I can't seem to get the bugger to do anything. Thanks and best of the Season to All.

Keep ‘em coming!

Hi John,

I’m in Beverly Ma. In the past I have driven out the pike on Thursday morning and meet up with Gordon and his wife Kathy at the Charlton rest area.  From there we head to Southington, CT where we rendezvous with Al and Heidi Gallo and Lenny C. Then we continue south to meet up with Carl Berry in Danbury, CT and Danny P in Montgomery, NY.

So far I see everyone but Gordon and Kathy have confirmed there attendance to the event. So the route may change slightly depending on that and if the folks who attended last year are up for another caravan.

Let me know if you heading down on Thursday and if any of those towns on the way might be a good spot to meet up with you.

Peter

Bruce

I have made reservations with Carlisle, the Courtyard Marriot and e-mailed the necessary info to you for Carlisle 2013. Barbara will be accompying me and we are looking forward to another Speedster Owners meet. Thanks for your arrangements.

We plan to leave from Northern New Jersey Thurs morning. Any chance of hooking up with any others?

Joel
