I've been receiving checks for the Saturday evening gala awards dinner. Several have included a note thanking Norma and I for our efforts, thanks to everyone for that. But keep in mind we don't do it all by ourselves - it takes a team. Thanks also go to Alan Merklin for arranging the hotel and restaurant reviews, Bill Drayer for the Thursday night cruise and dinner at the Caddy Shack, and Cory Drake for his artistic awards. They also provide a sounding board for all the planning. I couldn't do it without them.

And please keep those checks coming...

I guess I have to start begging and pleading. The Carlisle shirt orders are miserable. I know I took this on as a whim and nothing was guaranteed to me. In fact, I'm not making a dime on the shirts. I just wanted to provide you folks with a nice memory of the event, plus make it reasonably easy for all involved (customers and handlers at the gatherings) with the web site. Maybe you don't like it as well as I was led to believe (initially there was rave reviews)...or maybe you're all a bunch of big procrastinators.
There's still three weeks left until the deadline so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If any of you have subjective/objective thoughts that might help for future such things, e-mail me directly rather than cluttering up this thread. Thanks, Rich in Wisconsin
Actually I am American, like most of you. Fashion schmashion! I will wear my shirt the way I want, that one was actually purchased in the Bahamas!

New York State, so different from the city of NY. A nice place to visit, but I like clean air, trees, mountains, curvy roads, and open space!

And please don't forget to specify your club as "Speedster Owners".

Hello Gentleman, My name is Dave, I live in NW Ohio, I have a completed '53 and a complete assembly kit for another '53 speedster (black). Due to a divorce, I do not have the chassis for the un assembled one, I'd like to hear thoughts on obtaining a tubular or the regular vw chassis, would appreciate any tips where to look for a completed cut down vw or where I might get a high preformance chassis. I may also be interested in selling the Black/Tan one, both have flared fenders. Thank You, hope to hear back, Sincerely, David Nunn
Fellow Carlisle-ians:

A big part of the presentation I'll be entertaining you with at the Saturday evening dinner is a DVD presentation. I would like to get this as big as possible so everyone in the room (probably 80-100 people) can see it, so I've arranged for a video projector from a third party to use for the weekend.

Having been in the business of doing presentations in a past life, I learned the hard way to always have a backup to insure that the "Show will go on", no matter what, so I'm looking for anyone who might have access to a video projector that can handle either composite video (yellow phono plug), "S Bus" or an RGB input and can give us a decently bright image on a wall or large screen and can bring it along to Carlisle.

I have everything I need for the audio side as well as a DVD player, but need a video backup, just in case.

The source is a standard DVD, not hi-def.

Can anybody help??

Thanks, Gordon
