I've been asked to comment on trailer parking at the Marriott hotel.  There is a large parking lot beside the hotel where we all park our cars - there is plenty of room there for the cars and the trailers.  My suggestion would be to park the trailers and towing vehicles in the lower corner of the lot.  Just look for Bill Drayer's Casa de Bill motorhome, he'll be in that area.

Due to the generosity of last year's Speedstah Raffle, I will have a pretty complete Griott's Washing/Detailing kit with me (Thanks, Lane), to which I've added some other cool detailing stuff, as well as a bucket and sponges (both with gentle "schmutz scrubbers") for people to use either at the hotel (is there a water hose at the hotel?) or at the field.  Just find me.  Bring along some microfiber towels - I only have two.  The kit has wash liquid, vinyl sprays and detailing sprays along with detailing brushes and tire black and a bunch of other stuff.  Anyone's welcome.

This just in:

Al Shapiro will not be able to attend Carlisle this year but will be donating a Reyn Spooner "Air Cooled" Hawaiian Shirt for the raffle, size Large (see photo).  These are HOT items so don't miss your chance.  Thanks, Al!

Among many other things, thanks to the sponsoring manufacturers in the raffle there will also be five envelopes each with $50 cash.

Lots of opportunity and fun, join us for the annual raffle in the Marriott hospitality suite immediately following the Saturday Evening Gala Awards dinner at the Raddisson.

Gordon,

Yes, there will be a hose available at the hotel (see above).

Finally finished the traveler awards!   Every year we recognize the folks who put on the most miles to join us in Carlisle.  At this year's Saturday evening awards dinner we will present awards for "The longest distance driven - Speedster", "The longest distance trailered - Speedster", "The longest distance traveled - Coupe", "The longest distance traveled - Spyder" and, for the first time: "The longest distance traveled - MG".  The MG's have been supporting this event for a few years now so we thought it was about time we recognized them too.

LARGE BUMMER ! We have to bail on Carlisle this year. The car's been in storage all

winter, we just got it out recently and there's a pretty bad leak under the tranny area. Turns out it's a blown left axle boot and I can put my finger right thru the rubber at the bottom. No boots in town or nearby.

Anyway...have a real good one lads ! I've asked Bruce to put our meal reservation $$ into the raffle so some kind soul can buy a round for someone. Catch y'all later.

Danny, PM sent re: the carb.

Lane's the only guy I know that can take a trip that I have made (many times) in my truck in 10 hours, while pulling Pearl on a trailer, with a wife riding shotgun and two Jack Russell Terrorists in the back seat, and Lane does it in three days........

Geez....the Canucks are dropping out here.........We're all gonna have to drink a lot more beer to make up the difference.

I'm jus sayin......

Another great Carlisle event in the history book!  Thanks to Bruce and Norma for topping every past Carlisle---sensational job and thanks so much!  Thanks to everyone who made this the fine event it was;  Wild Bill, Chuck and so many others.  Congrats to Cory for his award and to Danny for the great showing on the Slalom course.

After Carlisle I drove to Arlington, VA to see the new granddaughter (3 weeks old) and we launched fior Nashville Monday morning--a 685 mile day---maybe my longest day so far.  Tues it was an easy 438 mile day to Hot Springs ---easy except for three bands of thunderstorms featuring wind, lightening and driving, heavy rain.

The Speedster did a total of 2,493 miles to and back from Carlisle. MPG averaged 26.4 which I'm happy with considering 70-75 going anf almost 80 all the way home ecept for the thunderstorms.  94.4 gallons of 92 octand + Marine Sta bil and 1 quart of Bradd Penn for the entire trip.

I will be looking for a cushion of high-density foam for my seat for the next long trip!!!

I would like to obtain a 8 1/2 X 11 sized picture of the group shot for framing.  How can I get this?  I'm certain that everyone who had a car there would like one too.  Someone?

Tens years and we're still a non violent family!

What a great four days but only got to talk with half of you guys and gals.

The speedsters looked great, no one aged all that much, plans went as planned, we managed to revive a few mechanical break-downs too. Hotel and dinner were terriffic as was Jim and Chuck's cruise.

My #1 thing for me was a tie... My wife Connie getting to meet all you knuckleheads and my lifelong friend Ross and I once again side by side wrenching

Thank you Bruce and Norma for once again making our speedster family reunion a genuine success!... Alan 'n Connie.

Thanks Jack. Kudos to the whole crew that put the event on, it was perfect. The weather totally cooperated in my opinion. Thursday and Friday were gorgeous, and Saturday was overcast, with no rain until late in the day. I didn't care at that point as the Merklins graciously ferried the Spyder boys to dinner. Sunday it was cold and rainy, but I stayed dry and warm on the drive home, top up and heat on(sometimes).

Jack, I only did 700 miles for the weekend but did it as comfortably as a Spyder can be I would guess. 31 mpg on the trip to and from Carlisle is pretty good I say with one size down on the idle jets.

Next year I will repeat the Autocross, and I hope some Speedy boys will try it! Watch out, I will be better prepared next year.

For you Newbies who might be asking, "Who the heck is this Jerome guy?", well.....here you go, from 2004:

you'll have to go there....I don't have "Flash" on this phone.

That's his brother, Kevin, in the right seat.  This was right before we all got "lost" by Carey Hines in his now-patina'd, blue and red powerhouse Speedster out of a light.

Nice reflection of Pearl in Jerome's terrific paint, too!

Hey, Gordon.  That brings back some memories.  In the shot of Carey's car, that's Mary beside it, and me getting out of the Red Rooster.  That was a wonderful get together, as the majority of us had never met face to face; we had only been on the SOC website up until then.

A lot of the fellows who were at that first meet are no longer a part of this group, but I can't say I've ever met a nicer bunch of guys (and girls).
