Sounds good, Gordon. We'll leave Western Ma. and meet up with y'all west of Hartford like last year. That was an easy route especially if you're towing.

We're currently wasting time in the "Sunshine State" and hope to address some mechanical issues when we get back. I retired in Dec. and should have plenty of time to get my sh!t together before launching.

We will meet up with member David Ard from Ft Pierce this week and see if he's up for a ride. He actually has a job though, so that may be a tough sell.

If anyone is driving any kind of distance and would like to caravan with others, there are several routes being defined.  The longest distances/directions we've seen so far are Massachusetts, Wisconsin/Illinois, Arkansas and Florida.  Post here if you are interested and haven't hooked with anyone yet or look for related threads under the "Events" category.

The Southeast caravan gathers folks from several directions, but we meet on Wednesday the 15th in Christiansburg, VA.  From there we follow I-81 north through VA and WV, and into MD, where we stop in Hagerstown for Lunch at Shoney's.  Does anyone remember the exit number?  At that point we gather much of the DC/Baltimore area folks, and make a larger caravan up I-81 straight into Carlisle - oops, it's Mechanicsburg now.

I drive up I-26 from Charleston, SC and will stop off for one night in Asheville, NC.  If I plan an extra day, I may accept Tom Raymond's generous offer and stay at his place near Johnson City, TN.  The next day we will gather in Johnson City (or is it Bristol) for lunch before heading up I-81 to Christiansburg.  By then we should have 5 or 6 cars.  We will pick up another 4 or 5 in Hagerstown on Thursday.

Anybody who wants to join us should reply on this thread or send me a dialog.  There are several way-points you can stop at before joining us, depending on which way you are coming.

... right???

Another item, posted on another thread Southern Caravan Carlisle:  My brother who lives in Charlottesville would like to flag down a ride at I81 near Staunton on Thursday AM, and ride up to Hagerstown w/ anybody in the caravan at that point who has an empty seat.  I'll meet all y'all in Hagerstown, and take him the rest of the way, and the inverse for the return on Sunday.  Pls advise if any possibility.

I will be visiting the UK this summer - we are the cool Speedster owners from Australia..

It is just a summer visit for us to the UK and then across the channel and over to the Tour De France into Paris for 10 days.

Now don't you worry about visiting the UK for car events, head over here to Australia first - the beer is better..

Mmm that will wind the 356 boys up in the UK...

Yes the Carlisle event is on whilst we are away. So maybe next year as I do get over to your side of the pond a bit.

Stay safe you guys.

Back in Chicagoland when you were called for jury duty, the maxim was one day or one trial.  I served four times in 20 years, each time at a different location.  Once I came close at the Daley Center when our panel was called up to the room outside the courtroom, but the jury box was filled before our group was called in.  Whew!  It was a murder trial.  Another time I had to go to the courthouse at 26th and California, NOT a good neighborhood; we had escorts between the parking lot and the courthouse.  I did get a trial for an attempt burglary but it was over at the end of the second day.  Both other times were basically sit, read, bs and wait.

Here in Loudon county, no calls in 11 years.  Rumor has it that the court has its favorite sons/daughers that they use exclusively.  I  guess that's OK with me but I wonder how well justice is served.

This is small claims court, and it's only for one day, but I'm hoping to get out of that.  If I don't hear from hizzoner I have to choose between risking it and coming, or waiting until the 13th and calling.  Like I said, fingers crossed.  I've never actually served on a jury, but I did have to go through the selection process for a capitol murder trial that would have included jury sequestration.  At the time I lived in Collierville, TN, a nice bedroom community outside of Memphis.  The accused looked like a gang-banger and had a real character of a lawyer with slicked back hair and a rather loud suit.  The entire selection interview went like this:

"I see you live in Collyuhville, Mistah Anduhson."

"Yes."

"Whachya like about Collyuhville?"

"Low crime."

"Yoah excused, suh."
