To all,
I can't stress enough that if you are coming to Carlisle and plan to join us for ANY of the three dinners (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) or the Friday lunch you MUST send an RSVP (see above) to me indicating your plans. Otherwise, I cannot reserve a spot for you. I can't stress this enough - we are limited in space. This applies to ANYONE who is or is not bringing a Speedster, Spyder, Cabriolet, Coupe, MG or any other vehicle and wants to participate in the events. 'nuff said.

Registered for the showfield. Does anything come in the mail?
They used to send back a confirmation p-card. But this year they are sending the window stickers so you don't have to stop and check in. With the sticker you can drive right in. They will have stations on the showfield where you can pick up the goodie bags at your leisure.

Bruce - It might be a good idea to list all of the folks registered for the dinners again, just as a reminder. I should be down for all of 'em.
I have received RSVP
At this rate, it will only be another year, or two at the most, before the Carlisle Fairgrounds has to open up a new weekend show for Speedsters. I'm just sayin' . . .
Oh I wish I could attend. Things have been rough lately. The dark employment plague was casted amongst the corp. division I work for. Yes,oil companies are tightening up their belts also. 50% of our division was slatted for layoffs. We basically had to apply for our jobs. Good news I have a job. Bad news I have to go to Iraq for a few weeks. I have to go through a bunch of training next week.
Have fun.. and have a few cold one's for me.
Joe

Joe,
Sorry to hear about the situation but glad to hear you're still employed. We'll have a couple of brews in your honor. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you at Carlisle next year.

I'm sad to say that Marc and I are going to be no shows at Carlisle this year.
One of my favorite Captains (besides Marc!) has chosen to retire this May. And, yes, his retirement flight is on the same weekend as Carlisle. I've been asked to be part of the crew, and that is a REALLY big deal. Retirement flights are always fun, exciting, as well as a little sad. It's very emotional for a Senior Captain to hang up his wings, and to be a part of his last flight with commercial aviation means a lot. I really hate to miss Carlisle because I've been looking forward to it but this trip is a one time only deal.
We'll miss seeing everyone. Have fun and drive safe!!!

We'll see you next year Susie! Bring your Speedster.
SueZ - sorry to hear that we'll miss you & Marc at Carlisle this year!
SueZ, I'm heartbroken. See you and Marc next year, I hope???
I just noticed Carlisle is running a video contest this year that might be of interest to someone. The site says:
"Carlisle Events YouTube.com Video Contest
You could win 1 of 20 Apple iPod Nanos
Carlisle Events is hosting the 2008 YouTube Video Contest at all of the specialty car shows this season and we want to see your best video submissions. The rules are simple and this contest is open to all guests of Carlisle Events. We have broken the contest into two categories to keep it fair - amateurs and professionals."

Yow! How many are we up to now?
Update: I count 65+ when you include spouses (spice?) and/or other family members. Given the likelihood of last minute stragglers, this could be our biggest yet. Maybe we should negotiate with the Carlisle folks for them to let us have the use of one of the buildings so that we don't have to worry about the weather. Think they'd go for that?
Received an RSVP from Graham Place. Nice car. Thanks Graham!
Received an RSVP from Dave Kumpf. Thanks Dave!
Folks, this is going to be a super weekend - the response has been terrific. If you're planning on joining us don't hesitate, the events are filling up fast!

Come out and join us!

WOO-FREAKIN'-HOO!!!!!!
I just realized (silly me) that one month from today I will be hitting the road north toward Christiansburg and thence to Carlisle. As I said, WOO-FREAKIN'-HOO!!!!!!
My enthusiasm is perhaps a bit greater due to the fact that what I am working on today is BORING, and two days in a noisy little car looks like a great improvement - particularly when it's taking me to see all my fellow Speedsteroids, eat egg sammies, and drool on cars I probably can't afford.
Ok, I guess I'd better get back to (sniff, whimper) work.

Additional thought (I TOLD you I was bored): Since we're down to the last few weeks, maybe Hoss should start the "no rain" dance that worked fairly well last year - at least for Carlisle in May.
Received an RSVP from Russ Crosby coming from Wilson, NC with guests Steve Fusco and Mike Christensen. Thanks guys!

I'm gonna try and make this one!
David,
If you're going to participate in the Friday lunch or any of the three dinners, please send me an RSVP with your plans so we can reserve space. We're already maxed out on the Friday night dinner at the Rustic Tavern and are sending the overflow to the Carlisle Diner a couple of blocks away. The other two dinners are approaching max too.
See details at the top of this thread.
