Just anounced, Jim and the LMG (Lovely Ms. Ginny) will be opening a ..."Pineapple's Are Us" and all inclusive resort in Carlisle. ~Alan
Wow, that's a great shot of the Hoss man in the B.S. (before steroids) days. Sure hope I'm off of 'em by the first of July....or sooner. I'm up a full pants size and my cheeks are so puffy that my head is beginning to resemble a certain fruit....now what was that called???
" Hoss-apple"
Now that's funny! I don't care who ya are.
...for a minute there I thought Alan was going to say 'road apple'! :-)
Just announced......

I got my window sticker too. I put it in the door of the Spyder, that way I can't leave it at home, unless I take the door off!
Good idea Danny. I'm gonna run out and do the same plus put the "goodie bag" letter in the door pouch.
Check out his thread on "the other site". Can't wait to see it in person.

How's the reassembly project coming along, Danny?
Regarding Saturday night's dinner and speaking thing -- I think this is going to be fun. I promise it won't bore anyone even a little bit, and it'll be a nice combination of exciting images from "Over There," and some photos of people and Speedsters from the last five years or so.
My aim is both to help everyone with a camera take memorable pictures of their rides and also to do a little photography 101. By the time we're about a quarter of the way into the program, it should be a self-guiding discussion.
Since it's going to be Saturday night, if you guys have some shots you like from the 2010 event by then, we can incorporate them into a slideshow to run in the background during dinner, or, if you'd like to have them worked into the critique, we can do that also.
It looks like we have a computer, a projector and a movie screen lined up.

Cory, I am happy that you are doing this. Many of us, myself included, can use some tips on better photography technique. However, although I will pay rapt attention to your program, please remember that I am old and after dinner, a beer or two, I just may....get....a....little drowsy and....uh.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

In fairness, Bruce asked if I would mind doing the dinner bit. I'm a team player like that.
Hoss, just leave the keys to Red Man on the table in front of you, and pull that giant hat down low over your eyes. We'll get the temperature in the room bumped up to a nice, comfortable 80 degrees, maybe tip the wait staff a few bucks to spice up your beers ... Get some old Lawrence Welk music played low over the house system ...
It'll all be over before you know it.
Hell, we'll even carry you up to your room. ;)

A seventh inning stretch (and potty break) will be in order before the presentations start.
A little banjo music will keep Hoss attentive. ~Alan
...make that a Dulcimer and Hoss will be in La La Land!
Emmylou Harris and David Schnaufer together. It don't get no better than that.

16 days and counting!
I am sad to report that the LMS and I have to bow out of the Carlisle gathering :-( We are trying to sell the ranch and have potential buyers coming into the state on that date so we need to be here. I really was looking forward to seeing all of you again and trying, once more, to choke down an "egg sammich" (I HATE eggs!)
You know this is good news for the gathering ... it always rains when WE go to PA so it will probably be warm and sunny this year!
Happy Trails,
Dusty and the LMS

Bummer that you two won't be able to make it to Carlisle. However, I do hope the sale of your ranch goes through as you had hoped!
Sorry to hear it, Dusty. I was looking forward to seeing both of you again. Have you settled on where you'll move if the ranch sells?
NUTZ! Another trusty scout bites the dust. Dusty and LMS, I will really miss you. I had planned to get a close up look at one of your magic tricks before I could down a brewsky to see if that helps in figuring it out. Ha! Fat chance.
Did I mention to you that one of my former boss's was a close up magic guy? He used to go to a convention in Vegas every year until they changed the format to something he didn't care for. He sure impressed me and a bunch of my fellow drunken associates at an after hours Christmas party one year....many moons ago.

IMHO the Friday cruise may well be the high point of the whole weekend. I'm really stoked about the RRF museum tour. It's well worth coming a day early for the Friday festivities.
Thanks for setting this up, Bruce!

yippie ki ay mother _ _ _ _ _ r. This may be just what the Dr. ordered! Time to let our hair down and drop the petal to the metal:-)
Methinks our friend Marty is a bit enthused, eh?
Yep, been working hard so now it's time to play.
Totally bummed about Dusty and LMS. Will not be the same w/out. And Gordon/Chris too? We'll be like a ship w/out a rudder. Or maybe not -- ECB knows a thing or two about how git 'er done.
But Dusty is highly motivated here as he has his sights set on Sedona, AZ and getting that all squared away is Job One. I look fwd to meeting him in Sedona someday -- soon I hope.

Motor is back in my Beck TR Spyder, new paint, carpet and leather seats, fan oil cooler relocated the battery, Spyder style E' brake, banjo wheel, GT mirrors and made some sense of the wiring... Weather stripping and a detailing is about all I have left to do... Got a excellent prognosis from the doc's and I'm so ready for Carlisle ! ~Alan
Alan--I can't wait to see this car!
We're getting so many Spyders that I think we Speedster guys are going to begin to suffer from arachnophobia.
Problem is once you drive a Spyder you become ...slobernockered and ya just got ta' have one ~ Alan
