Out of curiosity I clicked on the UK site mentioned at the bottom of the Home page.

Sometimes we get into some heated discussions over the differences betweeen type 1 versus type 4 or the various cars out there but our forum is not near as entertaining as the UK one!

Check out the "I'm confused?" thread in the general discussion! I could just imagine calling one of our female members "fat arsed and flat chested"...NOT!

Anyway, fun reading.

I love the fact that anyone can post, and you can make up any name you wish. Makes for some interesting "discussions" when everybody is anonymous. Even the names become insults sometimes.

Unmoderated sites are bound to be a problem, I don't know how they are going to keep that under control. Since there is no login requirement, all the SPAM bots will be picking up the member emails.
Before long it just becomes a breedin ground for people to lie about their identity and call others names

Take a look at spyderclub.com sometime. It's like being in a minivan with 10 people screaming about why their minivan is better. Still there is a certain entertainment value, like a car wreck, you just have to look. I find myself visiting a couple times a week, just to read about the newest gripe.

In my college days we called those types of discussions were called "Flame Wars"

Sometimes they were entertaining to observe or participate, and sometimes they got downright nasty.

Flamers: I don't understand why sites have these categories. There isn't one on these sites because I feel they foster argueing. If it can't be discussed in a civil manner, then it belongs in a private email.
