Thanks for that, Carl. I put the last one in at home and it lasted two years till the rock got it heading into Florida. I'll take my time with the new one and all should be good. Too busy at work right now to do anything so it'll wait a bit.

Hi David, I'm also almost at the point of mounting mine back on the newly painted body.. MASSIVELY paranoid as I somehow cracked the original I had when I was trying to fit it back into my Alum Frame with a new Rubber surround.. Since I've put the second one in now with a big dose of rubber supports and sikaflex, and lastly, Silicone, I'm still dreading the process. But need to do the dash upholstry first.. Good luck doing yours, keep us updated how it goes.

 

If you don't have a full tonneau & plan to add (I love mine), it's a good opportunity to add the studs to the dash BEFORE the windshield is installed.

I've done a couple of dozen windshields with success, don't " glue" the glass and or rubber,  you want it to be able to "float" just a bit ( i.e. give) if you don't and it is too ridgid you'll be dipping into your pockets.

Alan, I forgot to ask you about that D rubber like someone mentioned you had good results with. If that is the rubber you install on top of the outside of the windshield bow ( inside the header bow ) , could you pls. advise the source of it ? Thanks...

 

And yes, Tom. I will be installing studs for a full tonneau too.
