Not mine but... despite the funky bumper over riders, odd hood handle, and dash, dash brow covering the tach, no engine seal it still somehow has "eyes"...could be a nice ride with a few upgrades......move the gas filter please!

Just me? I don't know, but I'm still not a fan of whitewalls on Speedsters. They lose part of their European exoticness and make the car look too American.

And I agree with you, Alan, the overriders and dash treatment don't look right. Didn't the hood handle look something like that on the very early cars? Is there an engine compartment pic? I didn't see it on the Ebay page.

Some will like it, Craig, and some will not. That's one of the great things about these cars, we can build them the way we want. I just hope that, me being such a whitewall hater (and to be honest, I'm not a fan of the coral color either, since we're baring our souls!), we can still be friends.

And thanks Alan, I thought all the pics were up top and didn't scroll all the way through. I don't look at Ebay Motors listings all that often. Did you notice the coil slipping out of it's nice chrome cover? And the chrome (it might be stainless) generator cover- how's it supposed to cool itself? And that's a lot of bling for a little 1600- when I see someone dressing up a stock engine like that I can't help but think they're trying to polish a turd. With the issues you pointed out (and I'm sure once someone owned it there would be more), there's a number of things to be taken care of. Yoda out.

Any ideas as to the maker? The ad doesn't say and there are several different things going on there.

The latch for the engine lid is different than my VS.  I haven't seen over the shoulder belts on a VS Speedster or any Speedsters, just the Cabriolet.  The seats are one piece bottoms, not two-piece like in the VS.  The hood handle is different as well as the bumper over-riders. And the extra dash treatment is different.

Speaking of dash treatments, the area surrounding the gauges looks pretty beat up. Looks like it was painted with a nail polish brush.

And the Ebay price of $36,000 plus seems WAY steep. (Even for this newbie)

here I am surfing the SOC, minding my own business, and what do I see?

My name being used in vein......

My love of the Beehives, is well known among the older members,

& the pic's of me in a pink Miata (thanks Gerd) is the likely reason

my name came up, & I thank you "WILD BILL" for thinking of me at all,

The WWW tires are cool, my problem lies with the interior, just looks wrong,

my wife says white would have been a better choice.

but it does scream Miami.

Lane - Just in case you appear on "So you want to be a Millionaire":

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a quote most likely spoken by David Hannum not P.T.  Spoken in reference to Barnum's part in the Cardiff Giant hoax. Hannum, who was exhibiting the "original" (but fake!) giant and had unsuccessfully sued Barnum for exhibiting a copy claiming it was the original, was referring to the crowds continuing to pay to see Barnum's exhibit even after both it and the original had been proven to be fakes.  Ha, so maybe it does apply to replicas!
