Speedy vs. SUV

Dusty, saw the disfigured speedy pic, what happened and how bad is the damage? ~Alan

According to the date on the pic (8-15-08) it hasn't even happened yet!
There is still time to be somewhere else on 8-15. We all wish. But my typing fingers would be shaking too. Sorry for the injury to the speedy Dusty. Hope you and the LMS are OK.

Roy you need too know that Dusty is a magician hence, the date and time can be altered to change the course of events :).......Hope it's minor easy to repair damage .....

Tried posting about this SUV vs. Speedy mess four different times but my computer kept %^$#% out on me. Tired of it. Suffice it to say it was not pretty. I hope to get it fixed by the National Meet.

LMS and I are headed off to North Carolina at 6am tomorrow and will be back to face the body shops after the 15th. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Glad that you got no bruises other than the car. Scary having even a minor contact in our little tubs! Have a good trip to the Carolinas and get her fixed! As Mike from Quebec likes to say "That'll RUB OUT!"

Dusty, Did you see your car in Kit Car Magazine?

Haven't seen Kit Car Mag yet. We are still in N. Carolina. Saw some awfully nice properties today. Very tempting !! Still have a week to see more all over western part of the state.

I haven't even talked with the insurance company yet, but will make a full report when we return to Colorado. I hope to be able to get it repaired before the National Gathering. SUV collision time is very poore timed. ( WHEN would be good timing for a crash??!!)

Hey Dusty, we might become neighbors! There's a very real possibility that Pam and I will be moving up toward Asheville. Still in the "maybe" stage, but it's promising.

With all the Speedsters that might be gathering in North Carolina, we might need to change the name to East California. Whadaya think?

Aw, shit Dusty -- this is a bummer. Just looking at the picture, I'm thinking this is not so terrible and should be easy to fix. Structural damage?? I guess you don't know yet. I'd think you will have time to fix it before the big bash, the larger problem being where to take it. You are going to want it better than new, I know. It will happen.

Thanks to all for the sympathy. As you probably know we are now in NCarolina for just over a week. My poor damaged Speedy is wimpering in the garage back home in Colorado. You have no idea how often it crosses my mind and I wish I was back there working on getting it fixed. Luckily, I have a shop that can do the fiberglass and paint work and they are very good. Kirk is gathering all of the parts and is ready to ship them to me as soon as I get back home ... sooo, I may be up and running again pretty fast. I sure hope so.

UVs but I guess they are a part of todays regular life on the lanes. This photo will help me convince the husband into considerintg a brake light in the grill!!! Hope repairs go quickly and very glad to see that everyone is OK ~ I guess that is what is really important!!!! =)
