I’m suffering from late winter, pre-unfettered driving syndrome.
I want to add some stickers to my unadorned engine compartment. Not overdo it; just spiff it up some.
I’m attaching a photo separately, if I can figure out how.
I was thinking a Bosche sticker on the blue capacitor.  Any other suggestions?
Also, does anyone have a lead on sites that sell stickers that might be appropriate?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

@Marshall
Well!  Nice engine compartment with everything in the proper place!

Interesting key-lock for the engine lid, too.

You have a 1971 or later fan shroud, probably with the wider (more volume) fan.  If you’re wondering about the big indentation at the top, middle of the shroud, that was to clear the old oil bath air cleaner on the single carburetor mounted in the center on a stock Bug.

I’m with Alan - Klasse 356 should have those stickers and if not, try Stoddard’s    They seem to have a bunch.

Klasse 356. A Bosch sticker for your coil, a valve adjustment sticker for your fan shroud .006 that’s about all

Standard is Orange/black iirc. I’ve also seen blue/black.

FWIW, if you’re handy and creative with hoses and fittings, there’s a place that sells those partial flow oil filters for early Willis Jeeps that are ~$75 vs the $400-$500 for the kit from Vintage.

i think the oil filter should be in another color,,Shell yellow or whatever oil was popular then..

I took my inspiration from an original 1962 Super 90. That was the original color for that year, make, and model. The oil filter was also this color when I bought it off eBay. Although it had a lot more rust on it

Heres the motor I copied:

And this is from the 356 Registry:

'60 T5 Coupe "1600" H Filter Silver / Silver Fan shroud black
'60 T5 Coupe "1600 Super" Fram Silver / Silver Fan silvery-beige-greyish
'62 T6 Roadster "Super 90" H Filter Silver / Black Fan silvery-beige-greyish
'62 T6 Coupe "Super 90" Fram Silver / Silver Fan silvery-beige-greyish

Thanks to everyone who contributed suggestions.  I've ordered a Bosch 12-V sticker for my coil and a valve adjustment sticker for the fan shroud.  I agree that's about all I should do aesthetically.  I'll look into that optional oil filter, though.  But I'm hesitant to change anything mechanically as she's running like a dream since we installed new carbs.

Also, thanks for the Klasse link.  Didn't know of them.

Promise an updated photo when done.

I use my original 356 oil filter as a crankcase breather. You could just install it and not hook anything up to it if you're trying for that authentic 356 engine look.

Yes, thanks from me, too. That’s where I got my coil sticker but I couldn’t remember the name.

I got a couple of orange/yellow blue coil stickers on eBay that were really high quality. Then I realized black coil/yellow sticker is what I needed.  I used a Pertronix coil and switched stickers.

Rich MacKoul and I worked up a comparison of a 356 vs a 356 A, so for the oil filter, this is what we have (sorry for the sucky formatting, but you get the idea):

Comparisons - T-1 (356)

Comparisons - T2 (356A)

1954 - early 1956

Later 1956 - 1959

Oil Filter Canister

Fram is orange, Factory is gray

@El Frazoo- I don't know anything about the filter canisters other than they're bypass and not full flow (and if guys really need something like that to make is more Porsche-like, whatever...), but I did notice that European tuner exhaust with it's longer back primary tubing (to more closely match the front primaries so it produces the best power).                                                                                                                                       And the quadruple tailpipe treatment is pretty cool too!

Also, I never really understood the old filter arrangement.  where you splash some of the oil on a thing that looks like a filter, and let the rest of the oil go hang.  What's up with that?  But . . . I changed my oil and filter about every 3k mi 30 HD in summer, 20 HD in winter and just did what I was supposed to do.  The coolest thing I have seen so far along these lines ws a faux filter on a VW Speedster replica, that looks perfect, but is the exact opposite of a full flow system: it was a no-flow system, completely cosmetic -- just a storage place for an oil rag and maybe four spark plugs.  The repro had all the right decals and so forth.  It looked pretty good.  But there are always tells, because a "modern" VW mill will never be an old 356. If you know where to look.
