Yes, Stan, two daughers married within an eleven month span! My checkbook is still smokin'.
But my JPS is tuned and ready for another Southern California summer. I'll hold a positive thought for some good Illinois weather for you, too. I'm betting a Speedster is not a good car to be in during a tornado. Having grown up in Michigan, I remember those pea-green skies only too well. Yikes!
The tornados you probably read about came through a couple of weeks ago- within 4 miles of my house. They leveled half of a town about 10 miles from here. Amazing storms- one house was cleaned off to the first floor deck, the house across the road had a couple pieces of siding blown off. I feel truly blessed to have escaped completely.
When I was about 10-years-old, living in Grand Rapids, MI, a tornado came though a town just west of us (Allendale) and literally leveled all the businesses on both sides of their Main Street. We went out there the day after and I'll never forget seeing pieces of straw actually driven through a telephone pole just like they were spikes. Takes a lot of power to do that!
Having experienced lots of tornados and several earthquakes, I think I like my chances better in an earthquake...and I'm a guy whose house was completely destroyed in the 1994 Northridge quake.
