I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that name- who are they and where are they located?
Assuming you either mean JPS or SAS???
You will get an earful on both here but what they quote you on wait time and what actually happens can be 2 very different things.

At the risk of sounding like I am biased I will simply say, get your running shoes on and do not look back...Do a google search or search them here on the forums and you will stories that will explain my comment.

For the last 8? 10? years S.L. hasn't (as far as we can tell) built 1 car yet he's still taking deposits like his shop's a going concern. That's his business plan now. There is a line up of people waiting for cars from him (10? 15? deep- 1 as far back as 2011?), 1 person for longer than 10 years and it doesn't look like he's going to complete any of them. People have been by his 'shop' and there never seems to be any activity. Even a Google search shows nothing going on year after year. As said, use the search button and all this will be evident. I've never met him, but from people who have, he's quite the talker- if you've already talked to him don't be seduced; he'll tell you anything to get into your wallet.
Since you went this far to investigate him, do the smart thing and stay away from the guy. If you come back here crying in a year or so wondering WHAT TO DO NOW we won't be able to help you. He's been doing this for a while, has hidden behind bankruptcy protection once (that we know of- there may be another 1? 2?), knows how to use the system/state laws to protect himself, will take your money, may even send 'pics' (I'm pretty sure he uses the same pics for everybody) of a car part way along to get a 2nd payment and you'll be 30? 35? $40,000? down before you realize YOU'VE BEEN SCREWED!
Once the final payment is made, SAS delivers all customer cars on the 12th of Never.

The wait time for a car from SAS is NEVER as in you will never get a car from SAS. There are currently more than 25 people waiting for cars from SAS and some of them have been waiting for more than 20 years. So given that they guy that has been waiting the longest has been waiting for over 20 years and the guy that has been waiting the least has been waiting let's say a few months (because they foolishly paid a deposit) and he hasn't delivered a car in a few years based on interest research. That means you'll never get a car from SAS.
I have no personal experience with JPS. He does build cars and he does deliver cars but the experience, based on reviews, can be difficult. Do your research.
