Tom, I'd suggest you call a Customs Broker for a definitive answer. I suspect you'll have a great deal of difficulty bringing it into the USA but, you never know.

I do not think that exporting the car will be a problem, if you see the Classifieds there is another Spyder that is right now in San Diego, is the Carrera Panamericana Replica and that car was made in Mexico, Luis Urrutia was asking about $14,000 for the car before as far as I know, he could probably priced down the car because he really needs the money, let me ask him.......I will let you know

I do not know anything about taxes for importing the car to the U.S. but I do not think that could be expensive, the car is a real oportunity the maybe you can not see again !!!, if you really want a spyder buy it !!!....

I was interested in some pictures of the engine? I noticed that there were none?
I am waiting for a possible sale to go through with a speedster that I own so I can have the money to by this car. How road worthy would you say this car is? I actually thought about driving it home from the border if I could get the time off.
Is this car based off of a VW pan or is it special?
Do you have any details about the manufacturer of this Kit?

Well I sincerely do not recommend it driving it from Mexico city to the US there are over 12 hours of driving it could be very dangerous, unless you want to feel like you are racing the carrera panamericana, just kidding !!!, you should hire a crane service from Mexico city to the border, it will cost over $1000 to $1500 US dollars, the engine of the car is a VW type I without any modifications that means that it has over 45 hp, I can also mention that the engine has a full chrome kit, if you want more power, however, there is a company in Mexico city, it
