Hi guys,

Like many of you, I was stunned by the sexy looking of spyder and really wish to own one. But the problem is I live in Hong Kong, where all cars are right-hand drive. Do you know of any makers that offer RHD version? Do you think there is a problem in registering the car here? I understand that the best way of knowing this is to ask related authorities but I wish to listen to you guys' advice first before heading to those offices.

Thanks!
Ed

HI Ed,

Depending on what you are after, you can get the Chamonix spyders in a RHD. They are bringing them into Australia - you can see them at 550spyder.com.au - good luck, but as you said, check with authorities first as it can be a very expensive and frustrating process

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the link! The chamonix au version has all the things i want like the head restrain, water cooled engine etc. It's really nice! And AU is much nearer to HK when compared to US. I expect the shipping fee will be cheaper. Hopefully the authority will approve it...that's the only question left.

Thanks again!

Martin & Walker Limited in the UK makes a RHD Spyder with space frame chassis that is *not* bonded to the body. The antique beam-type front suspension has been replaced by double unequal length a-arms/wishbones and adjustable coilspring shocks/dampers. Rear axles are located with four trailing arms and a Panhard rod, adjustable coilspring shocks. Very nice people on the phone as well. Their kit appears to be highly regarded by enthusiasts too - just Google for technic-motorsport, M&W Spyder. Here's the URL for kits and prices http://www.technic-motorsport.com/M&W%20Site/550/550%20intro.html
