After much sole searching, I've decided against a Boxster, Hot Rod, Corvette, and everything else that I had considered.

The transport truck arrived at 3:00PM Calif. time 5-28-04 to take the Spyder on a journey to Chicago, Illinois to its new owner. Steve Jenkins, who's now posting on this board, purchased my Spyder.

To replace the Spyder, I've purchased a 2002 Carrera, Meridian silver, 18,000 miles, 320 HP, 6 speed trans, Litronic headlights, Black soft full leather interior, including the headliner, great sound system, comfort seats left and right, 18 inch tire and upgraded wheels, etc etc etc.

Congrats Larry. I'm having so much trouble finding the *right* Spyder, that I too am now looking at 911s...

I have a few Spyders that I am still hoping will work out, but if they don't, I guess I'll have to head up there so we can race our cars (I think I prefer the 993 though...)
Chris,

I've owned 3 air cooled Porsche's, 1968 912, 1971 911T and a 1976 911S. On top of that, I drove Porsche's EPA test cars from Ann Arbor MI, back to CA for about 18 years as a part time gig. All of the 911's were air cooled so this is the first water cooled 911 I've owned and it's smoother, faster, handles better and is more comfortable.

I'm happy with the car and with 320 ponies available, the car goes from 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds and has a top speed of 177 MPH.
