Hello everybody, I just wanted to let you know that after 4 month of work my spyder is nearing completion after an major overhaul.
This is the work we have done:
All aluminum interior, cut out the front tunnel, replaced VW pedals with pedals supplied by Dario. Faucet Bendix fuel pump and fuel filter at drivers side footwell. Replaced 356 typ instruments with Spyder style instruments. Changed ignition lock to dashboard and added switche for fuel pump. New banjo steering wheel with Porsche horn button.
Aluminum floor covered in the front with wooden plate. New handbrake from Dario and new shifting mechanism like jamar but manufactured ourselves. New shifterbox to accomodate new shifter.
Aluminum sidepanels with 3 holes. Repainted the complete car in Porsche silver and added flashes on the engine hood. Cut out front axle and rewelded to proper postion.
On the exterior I changed to front and back lights from Dario.
The Spyder is still awaiting a new aluminum grill and some detail work. Maybe later 16" wheels if I can get hold of a set.
But man am I happy to be able to drive it again!!!
All work was done by my friends Toby and Bernd and by myself.
You can see more pictures in the photo section under AWSpyder550.
I am interested what you guys think of the work. Please let me have your comments!

Thank you for your kind comments on the workmanship.

Oil lines are through the sidepanel driverside as is the fuel line. Pump and filter are operational. I usually wear flameproof underwear!
LOL!
I am planning to install a complete racing fire extinguishing system front and back. Only drawback is, that only powder extinguishers are legal and available in Germany.
Brake and hydraulic clutch line as well as the accelerator cable are through the middle underneath the wooden floor.
