Get it in the live trap, then drown the little sucker!

You can't get them just with the trap, have to train them a little. Get started with some chum, peanut butter works, got my last one with bird seed.

Place the bait where you will locate the trap. When it disappears a couple of times, put the trap close to the bait, then place the bait in the trap.

Can take eight or ten days. 22 really works best...jus' sayn'
I should send my friend Larry over. Larry was hunting in Montana all day and had seen NOTHING. Coming back to camp, he saw a lone squirrel in a tree. He put the scope on that critter and squeezed off one round. He got that critter right square in the ass! Larry got himself a hollow squirrel with a furry coat for his effort.
Bob,

I had a similar experience with a squirrel in our basement. We tried to scare him off with loud music and an air horn but he just ignored us. We then caught him in a live trap and transported him about two miles and released him in a park. Two days later he was back and in our closet munching on our clothes. We trapped him again and transported him about 15 miles, across two freeways and two rivers. It's been three years and he hasn't been back. Good luck!

PS

We took down the squirrel feeder.

Good luck with that.
We've got zillions of squirrels out here with all the pine trees, & a few have been eating the siding on our house. Of course they pick a spot 3 stories up on a part of the roof we can't see.

I've relocated over a dozen in the past year using a trap like that, & it's calmed down quite a bit. nasty little buggers.
(I'd rather use the .22 method, but my neighbors wouldn't appreciate it...)
What was it from Christmas Vacation? Cousin Eddy used to eat squirrels but then he heard they were high in cholesteral.

My friend when I was a kid had a pet squirrel, a young one, and they kept it in their partially finished basement. Once I went to visit and the squirrel was out and it ran right up my pantleg. Inside. You never saw a guy get out of his pants that quick before! My friend and the others there, yep, most of his family were down there, laughed and laughed.
Another squirrel story..

I was at a buddies gas station/store in a small Indian village about 100 kms from here. We were talking outside, nice day, and a squirrel ran into the store and started running around. My friend chased him out and I asked what was up with that?

He said they started feeding the squirrels, thought they were cute, and then the squirrels started coming into the store. Still kind of cute. Then they started running around like they owned the place. But the real problems arised when they started running around on the cash register....pushing buttons as they ran around. My buddy could no longer possibly balance his cash at the end of the day. Since he had kids working for him and cash was king in this small community, he decided the squirrels had to go.
We used to have groundhogs living under our pool house. They kept getting back in after I plugged all their holes repeatedly. Finally bought a live trap and started transporting them at least 10 miles. Any less and they come back. Moved the parents and 4 kiddies that way. No longer live there, but a .22 would have been easier. They are all just rats with bushy tails!
My squirrels tend to munch on my house -- been using Deer-away spray these days (smells just like sh**) and so far so good. In years past they have munched on the rubber fuel line on my truck several times. The truck gets parked outside. My neighbor tells me they like brake lines too. Fuel lines keep you from going, and so no big harm done -- just a minor PITA to replace. Brake lines w/ holes in them would be a real bummer. 'Nuther neighbor caught and released a ground hog several times, then just shot him. I suppose you have to take them a REALLY far ways to get them properly lost.
I live in fear that a squirrel may get into the attic so I shoot 'em with my truusty 410 gauge shotgun whenever I see one on the roof or clinging to the stucco.

I am a tender hearted guy and don't even hunt here in Arkansas but dropping one of those little bastards is very satisfying. Do NOT tell my wife!)
