I agree wholeheartedly with Stan. Most of you were ripping them for not having a car, they will reveal it today. While it may not be your cup of tea, give them kudos for keeping to their word. I for one am not a fan of wide bodies, but some of you are. I dig overriders and others feel it takes away from the lines of a speedster. I guess what I am trying to say is give 'em a break for taking a chance. Unless you are an investor in the biz why question their model. We can all pick each others cars apart down to what oil you use. Sorry of the rant.. happy Friday y'all, time for a morning drive.

I've said it before, I hope they do well, it is good for the hobby. They promised to deliver a prototype / finished car and they have done so, and on time. Kudos.

I just wish they weren't snarky and degrading of the established builders in their marketing materials. They don't call anybody out by name, but there aren't that many builders. For an outfit just getting off the ground they have proven to be, in my humble opinion, presumptious, unprofessional and rude in their marketing.

That is an entirely different issue than whatever their product turns out to be. We could be talking about flyswatter manufacturers!

I don't ever remember, and I have been on this forum for over six years, Henry, Carey or Kirk posting anything disparaging or belittling about the other.

If they have a winner, the market will tell them and reward them.

I hope that the arm they have been using to pat themselves on the back before they delivered a product is still functioning in a year or two.

Maybe the list was a bit too sensitive but being nice is the operative word .... if your trying to point out that a stick is crooked you don't have to say it it becomes immidiately evident when a STRAIGHT stick is placed beside it .... that goes for builds too

Wishing STARKE the best of luck. They delivered a product ahead of when they first informed this group, and kept true to their word.

As STAN mentioned, I don’t suspect many in this group will rush out to purchase one, but I’m sure a number of people outside this group will certainly purchase one.

To me, they did a much better job than WCC did on their 356 coupe/Convertible humpback concoction. And I’d take this over that ‘Eleanor’ bastardization in the background of the reveal.

Good luck STARKE!  I hope to see a number of these on the road!

I'm so used to our cars and the originals that this car looks bulky, but I don't think you could execute this on a Boxster frame, and not have it look that way in comparison to a 356. By itself, it wouldn't look that way I don't think.

Again, to my eye the windshield and frame look huge. The grills on the back are proportioned to my eye, but again, awfully large.

It does look like a "big brother" to a 356 or 356 replica. Nice paint, and the finish, all around, looks like their graphics. They did what they said they would do.

Overheard someone on the video say that they will begin production in December.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Body looks awesome,  although the car looks huge for a speedster.    I would ditch the areo mirrors,  they are way too small for that big body and giant wheels.   The side air intake needs to be redone to something more old-school.   I'm nitpicking hear that thing looks really cool .  Boxsters  are a blast to drive and  you will just look even cooler in this one:-)

I'm guessing the show car will generate enough interest and deposit money to get them on their way.

Functioning as a business and creating an efficient production operation are probably much harder than making a nice prototype, but it looks like they're off to a good start.

Also wondering about registration issues. Will these cars be registered and pass state smog tests as 20XX Porsches? If the owner supplies the donor car, does Starke assume it's the owner's responsibility to worry about that?

Again, for the general public, I still think there's more of a market for this car than for what we drive. Looking forward to press reviews of how well it's screwed together and drives.

not a chance....

Pretty much what we expected...yes? Their uphill battle is to get somebody to buy this as opposed to all other options in context with a PREVIOUSLY OWNED drivetrain....as it is NOT a new car. Many enthusiasts know their options including where to but a very luxurious  flat six or SUBY monster SPPEDSTER/ROADSTER with all the trimmings.

They could easily sell 6 to 8 cars per year but I have no idea what their projections are or at what point their business model becomes viable/thriving. I wish them well and will be watching the evolution of the revolution

Banzai:

Most of our replicas feature  a "previously owned drivetrain", all or in part. So how does that differentiate us from Starke?

Everybody is doing the same thing just from different angles.

That's why I think the notion of a "Revolution" is just so much marketing hyperbole.

Oh yeah, If I were to buy one I want all four custom hubcaps, not just the two the prototype features.

"......this has never been done before"......lol.....WCC did it......Kudos to Starke for delivering a car, while not my cuppa tea, they should sell a few.

If you put this one and the WCC side by side, the finish on the WCC just looks better, if they sort out that gawdaweful hump in the back, it would look quite sharp.

Starke seems to have made the back work way better than WCC, I'd love to see it with the top up, if it has one.

When I saw it head on, it had a convertible D look about it, until you see it from the side.

Regretfully Starke can into this group like a crazed bull in a china shop while singing Toby Keith's : I want to Talk About Me.... I want to talk about I,  I want to talk about number one oh me, oh my"  and that alone left a pile of bad karma that is difficult to forget. Their car will appeal to some hence they'll be around for awhile.  ( I just wonder what gratuity was conveyed to get Craig Jackson on site at the reveal)

I think its pretty cool.  I had a boxster S.  Great car.  So its a boxster that looks like a speedster with a pituitary tumor.  Still petty cool.  Liz Taylor would still look beautiful if she was bigger in all proportions...she would just be bigger.  Not sure she would feel the same.  That's kind of why this car is not for me.  I like little petite Liz.  I like how the normal size Liz feels...and drives .
